O Hockey Club Fribourg-Gottéron, máis coñecido como Fribourg-Gottéron ou simplemente Gottéron, é un equipo profesional de hóckey sobre xeo da cidade de Friburgo, no cantón homónimo (Suíza). Actualmente compite na National League A (NLA), a máxima categoría do hóckey sobre xeo suízo. O equipo foi o cuarto equipo en afluencia de Suíza na tempada 2012-13 con 6.537 espectadores,[1] xogando máis de 20 partidos como local co pavillón cheo durante esa tempada. Xoga os seus partidos como local no BCF Arena, un pavillón con capacidade para 6.800 espectadores.[2]

Historia

O club foi fundado en 1938 polos cidadáns de Frigurgo baixo o nome de HC Gottéron. Inicialmente o equipo competía nunha pista ao aire libre, máis coñecida como Les Augustins, ata 1982, cando se construíu Patinoire St-Léonard.[3]

En 1980 o club adoptou o nome de HC Fribourg-Gottéron logo do ascenso á National League A. Tres anos despois da súa chegada á máixima categoría do hóckey sobre xeo suízo, o Fribourg-Gottéron acadaba o seu primeiro subcampionato ligueiro por detrás do EHC Biel. A pesar das dificultades financeiras do club ao longo da maior parte da súa traxectoria na NLA, o club conseguiu chegar á final da liga tres anos consecutivos (1992–94, sumados ao subcampionato ), mais nunca na súa historia gañou o campionato.

O equipo salvouse da bancarrota en 2006.[3] En 2013 conseguiu un novo subcampionato (o quinto da súa historia) tras caer derrotado na final fronte ao SC Bern en seis partidos (4-2).
