Omar Sharif (arab. عمر الشريف‎, ‘Umar aš-Šarīf, syntyjään Michel Yusef Demitri Shalhoub, arab. ميشيل يوسف ديمتري شلهوب‎, Mīšīl Yūsuf Dīmitrī Šalhūb; 10. huhtikuuta 1932 Aleksandria, Egypti – 10. heinäkuuta 2015 Kairo, Egypti)[2] oli egyptiläissyntyinen näyttelijä, joka näytteli useissa Hollywood-elokuvissa.

Sharifilla todettiin keväällä 2015 Alzheimerin tauti.[3] Hän kuoli 10. heinäkuuta 2015 kairolaisessa sairaalassa.[2]

Ura

Sharifin ensimmäinen elokuva oli Youssef Chahinen ohjaama Siraa Fil-Wadi (1954). Chahinen kanssa hän teki 1950-luvulla kolme elokuvaa. Ensimmäinen englanninkielinen elokuva oli Arabian Lawrence (1962). Sherif Alin rooli toi hänelle Oscar-ehdokkuuden. Sharifin tunnetuimpia rooleja on tohtori Živago samannimisestä, osittain Suomessakin kuvatusta[4] elokuvasta vuodelta 1965 sekä Kapteeni Nemon rooli elokuvassa Mysteerien saari (1973).
