Jorma Herold

Jorma Kalevi Herold (6. syyskuuta 1943 Helsinki – 14. huhtikuuta 2020 Helsinki) oli suomalainen käsipalloilija.[1][2][3] Hän edusti 1960-, 1970- ja 1980-luvuilla useita seuroja ja voitti viisi Suomen-mestaruutta. Hän pelasi Suomen maajoukkueessa kaksi A-maaottelua vuonna 1975.[3] Hän aloitti uransa kenttäpelaajana mutta siirtyi 1960-luvun puolivälissä maalivahdiksi.[1][3]

"Jomma" Herold pelasi 1960-luvun alussa Sjundeå IF:n joukkueessa ja siirtyi maalivahdiksi Urheilukerho -51:n joukkueeseen,[1][3] jossa hän voitti Suomen-mestaruuden vuosina 1967, 1969, 1970 ja 1971.[3] Hän edusti 1970-luvulla UK-51:n jälkeen Arsenalia, Helsingin Jalkapalloklubia, uudelleen UK-51:tä ja Helsingin Palloseuraa ja voitti viidennen Suomen-mestaruutensa Kiffenin joukkueessa vuonna 1978. Tämän jälkeen hän pelasi vielä muun muassa Dickenissä ja uudelleen Kiffenissä.[3] Kaikkiaan hän pelasi 339 SM-sarjaottelua.[3][4] Hänet valittiin Suomen Käsipallosankariksi ensimmäisten joukossa vuonna 2013.[3][5]
