Willendorfeko Venusa

Paleolitoko Venusak bolian, harri bigunean (esteatita, kaltzita, kareharria) edo terrakotan egindako Goi Paleolitoko emakume-estatuatxoak dira. Eurasiako aztarnategietan, Pirinioetatik Baikal aintziraraino, agertu dira. Gehienak Gravette aldikoak badira ere, Aurignaciarreko adibide goiztiar batzuk daude, hala nola 2008an aurkitutako Hohle Felseko Venusa (duela 35.000 urte baino gehiagokoa[1]). Berantenak, duela 13.000 urteko Monruzko Venusa esate baterako[2], Magdaleniar amaierakoak dira. 100 estatuatxo inguru ezagutzen dira (250 inguru baxuerliebeak barne hartuta), denak txiki samarrak (4 eta 25 cm artekoak).

Venus izendapena eta genero ikuspegia

"Venus" izena Paleolitoko ehun emakumezko estatuatxo izendatzeko erabiltzen den termino generikoa da. Jakina, ez dira benetako Venus.
