Biografia

1940an jaio zen Kopenhageko Amalienborg jauregian. Gurasoak Frederiko IX.a Danimarkakoa eta Ingrid Suediakoa ziren eta jaiotzerakoan Danimarka Islandiaren jabe zenez hango Þórhildur izena ere jarri zioten alabari. Bikoteak hiru alaba eta semerik ez zuenez, 1953an Lege Salikoa aldatu zuten. Margrethe zaharrena izanik Danimarkako Koroaren oinordeko bihurtu zen.
