The 2027 IIHF World Championship will be hosted by Düsseldorf and Mannheim, Germany, from 14 to 30 May 2027.

Host nation bid

The only bidders were Kazakhstan and Germany.^[1] Norway withdrew its bid in January, four and a half months before the host selection.^[2][3] Austria had also expressed interest.^[4]

In the end, on 26 May 2023, the IIHF Congress awarded Germany the rights to host the competition.^[5]

Venues

Two venues will be used.^[6] There is potential that Germany's opening game will be at the football stadium, similar to 2010.^[7]
