Η Σίλια (Βασιλική) Καψή[2] (Σίδνεϊ, 5 Δεκεμβρίου 2006) είναι Ελληνοαυστραλή τραγουδίστρια, χορεύτρια και ηθοποιός, με καταγωγή απο την Κύπρο, την οποία εκπροσώπησε στον Διαγωνισμό Τραγουδιού Eurovision 2024 στο Μάλμε της Σουηδίας με το τραγούδι "Liar".

Καριέρα

Η Βασιλική Καψή γεννήθηκε στο Σίδνεϊ της Αυστραλίας. Γονείς της είναι ο Ελληνοκύπριος τραγουδιστής Γιώργος Καψής και η Ελληνίδα δικηγόρος και πρώην χορεύτρια, Δέσποινα «Ρεβέκκα» Σαϊβανίδη, από τη Θεσσαλονίκη.[2][3][4] Εκεί πέρασε τα παιδικά της χρόνια, μεγαλώνοντας σε καλλιτεχνικό περιβάλλον, όπου έκανε εμφανίσεις από την ηλικία των 4 ετών. Υπήρξε τραγουδίστρια για την Australian Youth Performing Arts Company (AYPAC) και σε μια σειρά από εκδηλώσεις σε όλο τον κόσμο.[3]

Το πρώτο τραγούδι της, «Who Am I?», το οποίο έγραψε και συνέθεσε σε ηλικία 12 ετών, κυκλοφόρησε το 2022. Κυκλοφόρησε δύο ακόμη σινγκλ, το «No Boys Allowed» και το «Disco Dancer», τον Μάρτιο και τον Μάιο του 2023.[3]

Η Καψή επιλέχθηκε από την ImmaBeast Dance Company στο Λος Άντζελες. Εργάστηκε με τον Stephen "tWitch" Boss στο The Jennifer Hudson Show και εμφανίστηκε σε ένα ντοκιμαντέρ χορού που παρήγαγε ο ράπερ Taboo.[3]

Η Καψή έκανε το ντεμπούτο της ως πρωταγωνίστρια στην ταινία μικρού μήκους Pearly Gates του 2022 και έχει δουλέψει σε διάφορα τηλεοπτικά έργα για το αυστραλιανό Nickelodeon, εμφανιζόμενη ως τακτική παρουσιάστρια στην τοπική έκδοση του Nick News.[3] Μαζί με τους άλλους οικοδεσπότες, ήταν υποψήφια για τον θρύλο της χρονιάς στην Αυστραλία/Νέα Ζηλανδία στα Βραβεία Nickelodeon Kids' Choice το 2023.[5]

Στις 25 Σεπτεμβρίου 2023, ανακοινώθηκε ως η εκπρόσωπος της συμμετοχής της Κύπρου στη Eurovision 2024.[3][5] Στον τελικό διαγωνισμό, που έγινε στο Μάλμε της Σουηδίας στις 11 Μαΐου 2024, έλαβε την 15η θέση.[6]
