Τα Καλύβια είναι ο μεγαλύτερος οικισμός της Σκιάθου μετά την πόλη της Σκιάθου, με 312 κατοίκους σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011.[1] Τα Καλύβια αναγνωρίστηκαν ως οικισμός το 1961 αλλά καταργήθηκαν το 1971, για να ξαναδημιουργηθούν το 2001,[2] όταν είχαν 179 κατοίκους. Σήμερα διοικητικά υπάγεται στο δήμο Σκιάθου της περιφερειακής ενότητας Σποράδων της περιφέρειας Θεσσαλίας. Κοντά στα Καλύβια βρίσκεται η παραλία Λεχούνι. Στα Καλύβια σήμερα λειτουργούν αρκετά ενοικιαζόμενα δωμάτια.
