Židovský hřbitov v Lounech se nachází jihovýchodně od centra města Louny, a to při Rakovnické ulici, kde je součástí městského hřbitova. Jde v pořadí o třetí židovský hřbitov v Lounech a zároveň jediný dochovaný.[pozn 1] Založen byl v roce 1874 a rozkládá se na ploše 1712 m². Celkem se v několika řadách dochovalo na 250 náhrobků, které jsou rozděleny do tří hrobových polí.[3] V areálu hřbitova se nachází obřadní síň, postavena v eklektickém stylu s maurskými okny, která byla na přelomu 20. a 21. století opravena. Opravou též prošel i hřbitov samotný.[2] Hřbitov je volně přístupný a stále se na něm pohřbívá.[4]

  1. ↑ Nejstarší, tzv. první, hřbitov byl založen v roce 1680 a pohřbívalo se na něm až do roku 1866.[1] Nacházel se v lokalitě pod Mělci a zanikl patrně počátkem 20. století. Druhý hřbitov byl funkční do první poloviny 19. století a nacházel se pod Malým vrchem u Vršovic. Zrušen byl v roce 1930 v souvislosti s rozšiřováním vojenského cvičiště.[2]
