Els monacàntids (Monacanthidae) són una família de peixos teleostis de l'ordre dels tetraodontiformes.Es troba a l'Atlàntic, l'Índic i el Pacífic.[2]

Morfologia

Reproducció

Els ous són demersals i la posta es realitza en un lloc preparat i protegit pel mascle o ambdós progenitors.[2]

Alimentació

La majoria d'espècies es nodreixen d'una gran varietat d'invertebrats bentònics, tot i que n'hi ha algunes que s'especialitzen en coralls o zooplàncton.[2]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba a l'Atlàntic, l'Índic i el Pacífic.[2]
