Cheilodipterus macrodon és una espècie de peix pertanyent a la família dels apogònids.^[2]

Descripció

• Pot arribar a fer 25 cm de llargària màxima.
• 7 espines i 9 radis tous a l'aleta dorsal i 2 espines i 8 radis tous a l'anal.^[3][4]

Reproducció

Assoleix la maduresa sexual en arribar als 8 cm de longitud.^[3][5]

Alimentació

Menja bàsicament peixets.^[6]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, associat als esculls^[7] i de clima tropical (30°N-24°S) que viu entre 0-40 m de fondària (normalment, fins als 30).^[3][8]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des del mar Roig^[9] i l'Àfrica oriental^[10][11][12] fins a Pitcairn, les illes Ryukyu^{[13][14][15][16]} i l'illa de Lord Howe.^{[3][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50][51][52][53][54][55][56][57][58][59][60][61][62]}
