গড়িয়াহাট রোড দক্ষিণ কলকাতার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ রাস্তা। এটি বালিগঞ্জ ফাঁড়ি থেকে যাদবপুর থানা পর্যন্ত প্রসারিত। বালিগঞ্জ সার্কুলার রোড, গুরুসদয় দত্ত রোড, হাজরা রোড, রাসবিহারী অ্যাভিনিউ ও প্রিন্স আনোয়ার শাহ রোডের ক্রসিং এই রাস্তায় অবস্থিত।

বৃহত্তর গড়িয়াহাট রোডের বিস্তারটি অবশ্য পার্কসার্কাস মোড় থেকে শুরু হচ্ছে। এই অঞ্চলে রাস্তাটির নাম সৈয়দ আমির আলি অ্যাভিনিউ (আদি নাম ওল্ড বালিগঞ্জ রোড)। বিড়লা মন্দির, বিড়লা শিল্প ও প্রযুক্তি সংগ্রহশালা এই রাস্তায় অবস্থিত। বালিগঞ্জ ফাঁড়ি থেকে গড়িয়াহাট রোড নামে রাস্তাটি গোলপার্ক হয়ে ঢাকুরিয়া ব্রিজ পর্যন্ত গেছে। ব্রিজ পেরিয়ে রাস্তাটি গড়িয়াহাট রোড (দক্ষিণ) নামে অভিহিত হয়েছে। গোলপার্কের রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন ইনস্টিটিউট অফ কালচার এই রাস্তার ধারে অবস্থিত। এরপর যোধপুর পার্ককে ডাইনে ও ঢাকুরিয়া-সেলিমপুরকে বাঁয়ে রেখে যাদবপুর অবধি প্রসারিত হয়েছে। যাদবপুর থানা-প্রিন্স আনোয়ার শাহ রোড ক্রসিং থেকে এই রাস্তাটি রাজা সুবোধচন্দ্র মল্লিক রোড নামে গড়িয়া অবধি চলে গেছে। রাজা সুবোধচন্দ্র মল্লিক রোডের ধারেই যাদবপুর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অবস্থিত।

গড়িয়াহাট রোডের ধারে বালিগঞ্জের গড়িয়াহাট শাড়ি, ইলেকট্রনিক ও অন্যান্য দ্রব্যসামগ্রীর এক বিরাট পাইকারি বাজার। বালিগঞ্জ ফাঁড়ি-হাজরা রোড ক্রসিং থেকে শুরু হয়ে গড়িয়াহাট রোড এই বাজারটির উপর দিয়ে দক্ষিণে প্রসারিত হয়েছে। প্যান্টালুন্স, গড়িয়াহাট মার্কেট, বালিগঞ্জ এসি মার্কেট ও দক্ষিণাপণ শপিং সেন্টার এই রাস্তার উপর অবস্থিত কয়েকটি বিখ্যাত বাজার। এছাড়া বহু সরকারি ‘হ্যান্ডিক্র্যাফট অ্যান্ড টেক্সটাইল এম্পোরিয়াম’ ও গয়নার দোকান এই রাস্তায় অবস্থিত। গড়িয়াহাট এর মাছের বাজারটির জন্যও বিখ্যাত। এছাড়াও রয়েছে বেদুইন, ভজহরি মান্না, বাঞ্ছারাম, তেরো পার্বণ ইত্যাদি কয়েকটি অত্যাধুনিক অভিজাত রেস্তোরাঁ।
