La Palma de Cervelló ye un conceyu de Cataluña, perteneciente a la provincia de Barcelona, na contorna del Baix Llobregat, forma parte del área metropolitana de Barcelona. El conceyu, con una estensión de 5,41 km², tien un total de 3.057 habitantes, INE 2009. La densidá de población ye de 565 habitantes per quilómetru cuadráu.

El 1857 integrar en Cervelló, constituyó un conceyu ente 1937 y 1939, mientres la Guerra Civil, volviendo formar parte de Cervelló tres la so finalización. Independizar por segunda vegada'l día 21 de xunetu de 1998.

Símbolos

L'escudu de la Palma de Cervelló definir pol siguiente blasón:

«Escudu losanjado: d'oru, una palma de sinople en palu. Por timbre, una corona mural de pueblu.»[3]

Foi aprobáu'l 19 de xineru de 2001 y publicáu nel DOGC el 6 de febreru de 2001 col númberu 3321. Armes parlantes relatives al nome del pueblu; cola corona mural (republicana); l'esmalte d'oru recuerda l'escudu de Cervelló, conceyu del cual formó parte hasta 1998.

Foi famosu por tener el primer y únicu alcalde invidente d'España, Josep María Llop Rigol, Convergència i Unió hasta 2007.

Patrimoniu

Ermita de Sant Joan del Pla: ye una ermita románica construyida al sieglu XI. Ta allugada la izquierda del regueru de Rafamans. Ta documentada en 1313, cuando yera dedicada a San Xuan y a San Félix. Foi construyida poles monxes benedictines de Sant Pere de les Puelles.[4] La redolada de la ermita taba en manes d'esta congregación dende l'añu 975 por causa de la donación de la condesa Riquilda.[5] L'añu 1347 na capiya de Sant Joan de l'Erm había un altar dedicáu a la Virxe. A partir del sieglu XVI la capiya apaez mentada con frecuencia nes visites pastorales. Ta formada por una nave y un ábside de planta semicircular. La nave ta cubierta con una bóveda de cañón reforzada por un arcu toral. L'ábside ta decoráu por un frisu d'arcos ciegos arrexuntaos de cuatro en cuatro ente lesenas. La construcción ye de sillares pequeños. Caltiénse una ventana de mediu puntu y doble derrame. Cerca del ábside, al muro norte, hai una absidiola practicada na grosez del muriu de factura posterior al edificiu. Los elementos de la capiya son carauterísticos de l'arquiteutura del sieglu XI. Puede vese na ornamentación lombarda y la puerta orixinal que taba formada por un arcu de mediu puntu con dovelas llixeramente irregulares.
