During the annual television broadcast of the National Football LeagueSuper Bowl championship, the commercials that are aired draw considerable attention. In 2010, Nielsen reported that 51% of viewers prefer the commercials to the game itself.[1] This article does not list advertisements for a local region or station (e.g. promoting local news shows), pre-kickoff and post-game commercials/sponsors, or in-game advertising sponsors and television bumpers.

A man asks for a Schlitz beer at a bar. The bartender fills up the customer's glass and slides it down the counter. While this is going on, another bartender talks about the quality of Schlitz. Just as the bartender who has been on the floor is about to lift up the bar flap, to go behind the counter, the customer quickly reacts, and the bar flap is lowered just in time for him to receive their glass of beer.
When having to choose between two sets of cigarettes, a guy (who is represented by a close up his hand) has to choose between one set that has 'Good, Rich Flavor' and the other set that is 'Lower in Tar'. Before selecting one of the two, another hand comes in stops the guy from making a choice and is presented a pack of Pall Mall Gold cigarettes. The hand that presented the Pall Mall cigarettes informs the guy that both choices can be found in their cigarettes.[7]
A man wearing sunglasses, smokes a Silva Thins cigarette while a voiceover talks about how the cigarette has the lowest amount of tar, according to US Government studies.[8]
The ad begins with a couple driving a Ford Mustang in a big city. The driver of the car then grabs a Salem cigarette. Right as he begins smoking the cigarette, the ad stops for a quick second. When the ad starts again, the two are now cruising offroad through a sunny countryside in a Jeep.[9]
A man turns a carton of Winston cigarettes into a record and places it on a record player. While spinning on the turntable, the makeshift record ends up playing the Winston tastes good like a cigarette should jingle.[10]
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the Non-Smear color television from RCA, a screen is split in half. The test is performed by an adult woman. On the left side shows an unclear, grainy screen. Thanks to the transistors and automatic fine tuning installed in the RCA televisions, the distorted effects are not present on the right side of the screen.
A man from the United States travels to Sweden to get a shave, only to stop the session several times; due to the razor from the barber not being as good as the Gillette Spoiler razor he uses back home in the US.
While peddling his Ford Mustang pedal car, a little boy pulls up and is serviced at Phillips 66 gas stand that two kids have made, similar to that of a lemonade stand.
At a ski resort, a couple goes downhill skiing together. Everything about this is described as 'beautiful' by the voiceover. During the ride down the slope, the two fall over. The couple then get up and share a Schmidt's beer together.
A young man pulled up in his GTO to a drive-in restaurant with dramatic music and exhaust noise in the background, pulling the "exhaust" knob to activate the vacuum operated exhaust, drowning the noise out, and then drive off.
Thanks to the De-Icer fuel system antifreeze used in his car, that was recommended by his local American Oil station, a man is able to ease his thoughts of starting his car on a cold, snowy morning.
Various people (including Santa Claus) are seen wearing buttons labeled "I'm a Believer", stating their preference of Amoco lead-free gasoline over competing fuel brands.
Adverting the new Plymouth Cricket. Features a Cricket driving inside a circle formed of various Plymouth cars, before parking in a space left open for the car.
Gunilla Knutsson appears on screen with a can of Noxzema; telling men how close they can get when they "take it off" with Noxzema cream. After she says that, the camera begins zooming up close to her lips. The ad ends with the close of up Knutsson's lips, telling the viewer that this is how close they can get when they use Noxzema.
Advertising the Polyglas tire from Goodyear. The ad highlights the tires advantages in mileage, traction, and strength by showing motorists demonstrating these traits while driving.
The head of a board meeting, at the Ford Motor Company, talks about the changes that were made to the Ford Galaxie 500 thanks to listening to customer requests that were sent to the company.
Several women bring a man, bananas, then a chocolate cake, and finally, Dutch Masters cigars. The narrator for the advertisement describes the items, that were brought to the man, as some of the best tasting and that they have come from Latin America.
A man and then a woman talk about the problems with the antiperspirant they use. The narrator of the spot then responds to this, by telling the viewer to fire the antiperspirant they are currently using and hire Right Guard.
Promotes a special offer from Better Homes and Gardens by offering the consumer a pair of books, through a certificate from a purchase of either a hedge trimmer or a two-speed drill assortment.
An adult male spends time at zoo with his son. The narrator informs the viewer, that by using Allstate for life insurance, you do not have to pass away in order to collect money. The narrator of the ad then talks about the company's money back plan and ends the ad referring to Allstate as the young man's life insurance.
The ad starts with a man voicing his frustrations about shaving, due to having to shave multiple times against the grain, along with the irritation it causes. The man then talks about how Gillette's Foamy Face Saver shaving cream helps with this problem. Thanks to the lubricating protection from the shaving cream, the man is able shave against the grain, with less irritation.
At a construction site, a construction worker drills a hole into a beam. The voiceover for the commercial, then talks about how the tungsten steel of the drill bit made the workers tough job easier the same way the same steel used in the Personna 74 razor gives the user the sharpest and longest lasting shave.
A couple is on their way to catch a ferry ride, but the car they are in, runs out of gas. The man driving the car, gets out, walks to his nearest ARCO gas station and fills up a gas can. When he arrives back at the dock, the woman and the car he was with, are on the ferry sailing away from the man.
Several teenagers from around the globe sing on top of a hill in Italy while holding bottles of Coke. The jingle sung in the ad ("Buy the World a Coke") was later adapted to a full-length song (removing the Coca-Cola references) twice, becoming a hit song.
At the Goodyear Test Track in San Angelo, Texas, the Goodyear Custom Wide Tread Radial Tire is put to the test, by placing the tires on a Ford Mustang and slaloming around a set of cones. The car is able to navigate the course, flat and smooth, thanks to the tires.
An adult couple has trouble starting their car, so they resort to borrowing their teenage son's souped up Plymouth Barracuda, equipped with a DieHard battery.
A spokesman reveals that in a survey polled amongst independent service technicians, Zenith color televisions topped in fewest repairs, best picture, and was the brand that most participants said they would buy at present time. Promotes the Chromacolor II television.[14]
A monk must make 500 handwritten scriptures for his boss. He obviously goes to Xerox, and delivers the scriptures. The boss looks to the heavens and says, "It's a miracle".
Highlights the computer chip used in IBM Computers. A spokesman first appears with an enlarged image of the chip before showing the actual chip, which is smaller than the tip of his finger.[20]

On a skinning trip, a trio of guys have climbed a snowy slope. One of the skiers wants to turn around and head back, but another one tells him that they have Löwenbräu at the lodge. This changers the skiers mind and the three ski back to the lodge for some Löwenbräu.
The ad starts with a professional photographer taking photos of Joe Theismann during a football game with a Canon AE-1 camera. The ad ends with Theismann using the same camera to take photos of his family throwing around a football at their house.[31]
O. J. Simpson explains how Hertz gives customers the "Best of Both Worlds with the gifts they provide their customers and the travel rewards program that they offer as well.[35]
Compares the Atari 5200 SuperSystem to arcade games. Highlights the 'pause' feature that the system provides, in which it allows the player to receive a call from a woman named 'Judy' all thanks to this feature.[36]
The ad starts with a professional photographer taking photos of Joe Theismann during a football game with a Canon AE-1 camera. The ad ends with Theismann using the same camera to take photos of his family throwing around a football at their house.[37]
A female Burger King employee (played by Elisabeth Shue) appears on screen, telling the viewer, if they have not switched over to Burger King yet, they have no choice but to use the 'Ultimate Weapon' on them: a montage of the Whopper sandwich set to Ride of the Valkyries.[39]
In what some call the greatest Super Bowl commercial of all time, an Olympian runs to save a race of hypnotized humans from their computer overlord. Being chased by police, the Olympian throws a hammer at the screen overlord and a beacon of light shines, to the amazement of the followers. The ad closes with the narration "On January 24th, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you'll see why 1984 won't be like 1984."
The ad begins with a man in a copy center, with a Sharp SF 900 Copier. As he describes the features of the copier a giant saw cuts through the wall. This is repeated two more times, until only a fourth of the center is left. Each time the saw cuts a section off, the man quickly and frightenedly moves over to the section of the copy center that remains.
A little boy named Andrew gets a puppy from his parents. The narrator states that puppy is going to help him learn more about love and responsibility. This segways into the narrator stating that when the boy gets older, his responsibilities will increase, and that Nationwide will be there to help him; just like they have with the rest of their family. The ad ends with Andrew and his new puppy sleeping in a blanket, in allusion to the blanket protection that Nationwide provides to their customers.[40]

A long line of blindfolded office workers approaches a cliff. One by one, the workers plunge to their deaths, while a voiceover states that Macintosh Office will soon be announced. The person at the end of the line then stops and removes his blindfold, taking in the situation before turning around and seeing another line of people approaching.
Showcases the Anti-lock braking system provided in cars through ITT's Teves division. The ad shows a comparison of a car test; first with a car that does not have the ABS feature on a slick road, which causes it to spin out when braking. After that, a car with the ABS feature installed on it is put to the test. This time the car stops on the slick road smoothly and without spinning out.[45]

In response to the strong demand from customers wanting to purchase the peanuts they served on flights; an airplane parks at a supermarket to drop off a supply of Eagle Honey Roasted Peanuts to sell at the store.[48]
Back from his flight, a businessman returns to the office, only to receive a voicemail from his boss. When listening to the message, the businessman finds out he has been rewarded a vacation for all the trips he has had to take for his job with American Airlines.[52][53]
A little boy and his dog goes around collecting Pepsi and Coca-Cola cans. Each can they find goes in the toy wagon he is pulling along. When the wagon gets full, he brings it to a recycling center and exchanges the cans for some coins. The ad ends with the little boy using the coins from the Coke and Pepsi cans he had collected, to purchase an RC Cola from a vending machine.[60]
Thanks to the Goodyear Vector tires used on their car, a father and son are able to drive around and find their lost dog, despite the heavy rainfall.[63][64]
A ticket agent for Delta skillfully maneuvers through a crowd at an airport, in order to return a suitcase for a customer who is about to board an airplane.
Silhouettes of five of the world's leading Motor oils are displayed on screen. One-by-one, each bottle floats away when the voice over states that only one Motor oil exceeds all car makers US Warranty Requirements and surpasses the American Petroleum Institute's highest standards for car engine protection for every weight it sells. This leaves only one Motor oil bottle left and is revealed to be Pennzoil.
Advertising the company's line of Turbo Formula Motor oil. A cover of the song, Heat Wave, plays while a montage of people driving various turbo-charged cars is shown for the duration of the ad.
Promoting the brand's Fast Track Deodorant. For the ad, a voiceover states that "It's More Effective Than the Leading Men's Deodorant" and that clinical tests have shown that it blocks odor; prior to revealing the product.
A Mom and her daughter appear at a pond, skipping stones across the water. The pond is next to a new house the daughter had purchased. This leads to a conversation between the two about the new house; with the daughter insisting all the ways that Coldwell Banker has been able to help her achieve this situation.
At Super Bowl XXIII, the scoreboard at the endzone displays a message celebrating the 21st birthday for the Big Mac. The crowd then sings Happy Birthday in honor of the sandwich.[67]
A family starts their morning off, by using Kenmore appliances to make breakfast and clean their clothes. Our House by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young provides the soundtrack to the advertisement.[68]
Joe Montana offers any celebrity that has appeared in a Diet Coke commercial, to take a blind taste test and see which tastes better, Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke.
In a perfect world, everyone would have a Ferrari Testarossa or beachfront property. However, this commercial world has people putting stuff on their budgets that would leave little room for car and rent. Luckily, the Isuzu Rodeo exists for such people.
After having trouble sleeping due to a basketball game taking place above him, Bugs Bunny recruits Michael Jordan to get his revenge. Would become the inspiration for the 1996 feature film, Space Jam.
Actor, John Cleese displays a number of the company's latest electronics. As the ad progresses, Cleese appears on the screen or lens of each subsequent product, with some of the Johns becoming increasingly frustrated.[73]
This four-part ad describes the fictional narrative of how Pepsi created its new slogan, "Gotta' Have It." In the first 30-second advertisement, a farmer drives his truck off the road and into a Pepsi billboard. The accident conveniently leaves the phrase, "Choice of a New Generation" cut-out as if by hand. In the second advertisement, townspeople are interviewed to describe their feelings about the new Pepsi movement. People gather by the hundreds in an event mimicking the iconic Woodstock festival. In the third advertisement, celebrities including Regis Philbin, Yogi Berra and Jimmy Connors comment on the popularity of Pepsi, and by the commercial's end, a new slogan is discovered: "Gotta' Have It." The fourth advertisement is in the style of a news report, and it notes the sightings of Pepsi billboards across the country.

Promoting the Lincoln Mark VIII. Rather than being an advertisement for the car, the narrator tells the viewer to think of the 30-second spot as a highlight film. Several football broadcast techniques like Instant Replay and Slow Motion are used in the ad.[74]

A young woman in her bedroom upstairs wearing a white cap sleeved leotard or bodysuit as a top sees her date (Alan Cumming) pulling up. She struggles to get into her jeans by hip rolling, and jumping up and down and trying to pull jeans up at same time. Date sees shadow of her hip rolling in window and gets excited. As she continues to struggle to get into her jeans she gets one foot tangled in cord of floor lamp then the other and falls into mannequin with mannequin landing on top of her and the lights going out. Date sees this and looks to him like she is fooling around with another guy.
Thanks to the car being supplied by Goodyear Aquatred Tires, a duo waterskies on less than an inch of water while being towed by the car with the tires on it.[77]
Advertising the Honda Odyssey Mini-Van and featuring the artwork of Keith Haring. Narrator Jack Lemmon tells the viewer that despite growing up, getting a job, getting married, and having kids doesn't mean that the viewer has to settle for a regular Mini-Van. Was the first of three ads that Honda aired back-to-back-to-back in the 4th quarter.[78]
Jack Lemmon talks about some the "joys" of the mini-van, including the big sliding door, the heavy removable third row seat, and the rear windows that don't roll down. He then talks about the features that Honda Odyssey has that other Mini-Vans do not; such as having four doors and a fold away rear seat. As with the "Grow Up" spot, Keith Haring's artwork is featured. Was the last of the three ads that Honda aired back-to-back-to-back in the 4th quarter.[79]
Parodying the James Bond movies; a couple in a Honda del Sol is being chased by a helicopter. Right as the helicopter catches up to the del Sol, the villain of the ad jumps on top of the roof and begins attacking the car. The tuxedo-clad driver reacts to this, by releasing the detachable roof of the car with the villain on top of it. Was the second of three ads that Honda aired back-to-back-to-back in the 4th quarter.[80]
This ad was produced by Bozell. The commercial features something tunneling beneath the snow, crossing a vast and desolate mountain range, bathed in the multicolored glow of the setting sun. The tunneling object is never exposed and actually remains undefined until the last seconds of the ad, when we see twin taillights light up at a partially submerged stop sign and then turn left. The car is only identified as a Jeep on the final title card that flashes across the screen The commercial First aired during the opening ceremonies of the 1994 Winter Olympics. Although the ad was recognized for its remarkable special effects, many of which eschewed CGI in favor of practical setups, it has been most credited for its approach to the Jeep brand as a whole. While most ads only receive major airplay for a few months, "Snow Covered" was shown for the better part of a decade after its release. the Snow Covered ad was awarded with the prestigious Grand Prix award in the section Film Lions at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in 1994, becoming the first auto ad to ever do so. by beating Cup Noodles sequels "hungry?" Quetzalcoatlus and Uintatherium which produced by Hakuhodo. Before The Ad Aired in Super Bowl XXIX.[83]
On a snowy, winter night, a Pepsi and Coke truck driver stop at a roadside diner. The two truck drivers begin bonding over things like family photos and stories. This leads the two to share their colas with each other; only for the Coke driver refusing to give his Pepsi back. The ad ends with a fight breaking out between the two truck drivers.
Spoof of the 1989 film Field of Dreams. An adult male is reunited with his deceased father, who was a baseball player. When the father asks for a Pepsi, the son responds by giving him a cheap, fictional, off-brand cola, named Fred's Choice. Despite saving nine cents on the cola he purchased, this disappoints the father and ends with him walking back into the cornfield he came out of.[89]
A cinematic-styled spot, based on the biblical tale, David & Goliath, sees David knockout Goliath with his slingshot. The ammunition in the slingshot happens to be a rock with the Wilson "W" emblem on it.[91]
At a party, a man pretends to claim that he directed movies for HBO. The man is then asked questions about the various stars he has worked with. Each time he is asked about an actor he supposedly worked with; he tries to downplay it. That is until he crosses path with Dennis Hopper, asking if he know who the man is and ends up blowing his cover.[92]
After losing four consecutive Super Bowls, coach Marv Levy of the Buffalo Bills tells his players that no one can leave the locker room they are in until they have a plan to finally win the Super Bowl. Worried about the length of the meeting and their hunger, the players all begin eating Snickers bars.[95]
Appearing on jumbotrons on the opposing ends of a football field, Deion Sanders and Steve Young have a little banter over which brand of Wheaties is better. Michael Jordan also appears.[96]
Swinging in her baby swing to "Rock-a-Bye Baby," a little girl. Swinging forward, she puts on a happy smile Swinging backwards, her face crumples in distress Swinging forward, her eyes light up again, swinging back tears form in her eyes, A reverse cut shows that the swing is facing a window When the swing comes forward the baby can see McDonald's golden arches When it swings back she can't. the Baby Swing ad has won the Grand Prix in the section Film Lions at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival with the Rolo ad "Elephant" in same year This ad was produced by Leo Burnett Worldwide.
A security camera catches a Coca-Cola truck driver attempting to grab a Pepsi out of a cooler; only to have all the cans spill out of the cooler and in front of the Coke driver. Hank Williams 1952 song, Your Cheatin' Heart, provides the soundtrack to the ad.
A princess (portrayed by Cindy Crawford) walks into a dark castle and approaches a cartoon duck named Ziggy. The two then drive off in a Cadillac Catera.[97][98]
Bob Dole returns to his hometown of Russell, Kansas, and uses a check to pay for an order at diner. Despite the notoriety, Dole is asked for some form of identification when paying with the check for his meal. Promotes the Visa Check Card.[99]
As an Eggo waffle pops out of a toaster, a family rushes over to grab it, but it disappears. In an instant replay, it is revealed their grandmother somersaulted through the air and finished eating it before they got to the toaster.
At a fancy restaurant, Miss Piggy falls in love with a charming man. But when the man wants to eat her Baked Lays, she karate chops him through the wall.
Lays "Party"
People are celebrating the new flavors of Baked Lays. When Miss Piggy has the door closed on her, she disrupts the party by kicking down the door. Cast: Richard Lewis.
In a scene edited from the 1951 movie, Royal Wedding, Fred Astaire dances with a Dirt Devil Broom Vac, all while sweeping up a pile of dirt on the ground
Another ad featuring a dance scene from Royal Wedding. This time, Fred Astaire uses the Dirt Devil Ultra Hand Vac, to clean the walls and ceilings of a room.
While watching Star Wars, a little kid is sucking on the straw of his Pepsi too loud, so Darth Vader uses the force to crush his Pepsi. An usher stands up for the kid, and soon has a giant lightsaber battle with Vader.
Kids in a classroom communicate with an astronaut in space, via email and video from MCI. During the conversation, the inside of the classroom becomes weightless and the kids begin to float around like they are in space.[103]
A man challenges a pool player with his chicken. The chicken wins the game by shooting eggs.
Bud Light "Shopping"
A man is bored while his wife is clothes shopping. He hears a voice in one of the clothing racks, and finds four of his buddies watching the game. Cast: Sean Hayes, Kathy Christopherson.
In a six-part commercial story, Louie the Lizard tries to kill off the Budweiser Frogs. It goes like this: 1. Louie tells the frogs to enjoy the first half, because they may not be around for the second. 2. Louie denies rumors from Frank that he is going to kill the Frogs. 3. The Ferret, Louie's accomplice, drops the Budweiser sign into the swamp, electrocuting the frogs. 4. Louie says it is the best day of his life, until he sees that the Frogs have survived. 5. Louie rants to the Ferret that he screwed up the job. 6. Louie apologizes for trying to kill the Frogs, saying it was purely for entertainment reasons.
In a Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoon, Wile E. Coyote uses a Widetrack Grand Prix to try and catch the Road Runner. Coyote is almost successful, until the cartoon ends before he can catch the Road Runner.
In the Intel Lab where everyone wears radiation suits, the detective (in a suit) finds a processor missing. It is either Jimmy the Wire or Susie the Mouse. People voted in the internet poll "Whodunit?". At the fourth quarter, the suspect was announced.
A little girl talks about how she would want a pet elephant. In sweet music, the girl talks about her adventures with the elephant. She instead gets a plush elephant with Visa Debit. The commercial ends with her dreaming of a pet zebra.
Two men are at a Laundromat when a beautiful woman (Ali Landry) enters to do her own laundry and notices them eating Doritos. They try impressing her with elaborate ways of tossing Doritos 3Ds into the air. Intrigued, the woman then walks over to them, takes the 3Ds and tosses them into a washing machine where it shoots out individual pieces and demonstrates her own unique way of eating the new Doritos. The man on the left then says, "Ay chihuahua!" Also starring Sean Hayes

A man sees a woman with Bud Light in her apartment. He shoots a mouse with a slingshot in her room causing her to freak out and go to the man's house to stay for the night.
Bud Light "Paper or Plastic"
Two guys are trying to pay for their items, but they do not have enough money. They get rid of some items, and are left with toilet paper and a six-pack of Bud Light, but they still don't have enough money for both. Forced to choose between the two, they choose Bud Light, and paper bags with which to bag their purchase.
At a firehouse, two Dalmatian puppies roll around in a basket. The puppy with the blue collar is picked as the fire dog, in which[clarification needed] it sticks its tongue at his brother with a red collar. Two years pass, and the red-collared puppy is seen by the fire dog to be in a Budweiser chariot driven by Clydesdales. The dalmatian then sticks his tongue out at his estranged brother.
Budweiser "Lashing"
Louie the Lizard apologizes for last year's commercial (see 1998). When the Budweiser Frogs (mainly "Bud" and "Er") turn out to be able to talk, "Bud" and "Er" slap Louie with their tongues.
Budweiser "Lobster"
A lobster about to be cooked in a restaurant grabs a Budweiser and holds it hostage. Freaking out the restaurant, it leaves with the Budweiser. An onlooking diner tells his waitress that he'll have steak instead.
Jerry Seinfeld leaves his show to get a real life, and proceeds to go on a cross-country road trip with his American Express card. He ends up in New York as he proclaims, "This is where I belong!" before it is revealed to be filmed on set as a commercial.

Directly following the end of the 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, E.T. explains to their parent's what earthlings were like. The alien mentions to them that they still rely on the wheel for things like bicycles and cars; along with the fact that the humans operating those wheeled items can get involved in accidents. When explaining this, E.T.'s parents get worried, but E.T. then gives the two hope by telling them that Progressive Insurance exists and can help when humans get involved in such accidents. While explaining all of this, the alien's ship narrowly avoids hitting a spaceship headed towards Earth, piloted by former astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell. The ad ends with E.T. telling the parents the best way to contact Progressive is by "phone".

Budweiser "Rex's Motivation"
A dog s not crying in a movie scene, so the director tells the dog to think back to his worst day. The dog's worst day was jumping over a hedge to chase a Budweiser truck, only to ram head first into the side of a lawn care truck. The dog then gives the howl of his life.
The announcer decide to take a break from commercialization and focuses on the 2000 Olympic Games with female swimmers swimming. They then spelled out "VISA", and the announcer ends their break, and says that Visa is the official card of the Olympic Games.
While greeting Dorothy, the Lollipop Guild lose their high voices. A FedEx truck delivers three balloons to the group, they inhale the helium, and continue the greeting.

The ad then cuts to the guy with his female partner enjoying a Bud Light. When she asks where the dog is at, the dog walks in and is now very fat from all the food eaten.[110]
A dog is abducted by aliens. It is revealed that the dog is actually an alien in disguise. When the leader asks what he has learned, the alien quotes the Whassup? line. It soon catches on with the alien, and an alien intelligence agency finally detects the race.
Budweiser "What Are You Doing?"
A commercial plays that shows sharply dressed men parodying the Whassup? commercials with the line "What are you doing?" It is then revealed to be a commercial watched by the men from the Whassup? commercials.
The ad starts with a trio of young adults, who live in a world where everything around them is the color white, put on a pair of sunglasses and makes everything become the color red. The trio, along with a Poodle, enter a building and use several red colored products that are sold at Target, such as Coca-Cola soda and Big Red gum. Devo's Beautiful World plays during the ad.[113][114]

Pepsi "Bob Dole"
Bob Dole does a spoof on his erectile dysfunction commercials by using Pepsi as the product. Pepsi helps him feel young again, as he does a backflip. Cast: Bob Dole, Eric Stonestreet.
Pepsi "Rollercoaster"
A man brings a full cup of Pepsi on a rollercoaster. Somehow, he manages to spill none of it on the ride. Later, an attractive woman asks him for the time, and he spills the Pepsi on his shirt. The rollercoaster shown in this commercial is Alpengeist, a B&M inverted coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
In a spoof of the famous 1970s Crying Indian commercial, the chimp from last year's popular E*Trade commercial wanders through a ghost town on a pony. Several deserted dot-com businesses are seen, referring to the various dot-com companies which went bankrupt partly due to their commercials last year. The chimp sheds a tear for the corpse of the Pets.com sock puppet dog.
As a tribute to the victims of the September 11th attacks, Budweiser produced a one-time-only advertisement. The commercial shows the Budweiser Clydesdales walking across the Brooklyn Bridge into New York City. They then stopped, gazed at the ruined New York skyline, and bowed in reverence and respect. The commercial aired only once, but was available on the website for a period of one year. Two different modern takes on this commercial aired decades later: first in 2011 with the newly built One World Trade Center in the background skyline, and again in 2021 with additional structures on the World Trade Center site (including 3 and 4 World Trade Center) now completed as well as Tribute in Light illuminating the sunset sky.

A man is shown checking into a hotel. He accepts multiple offers from the concierge, including a "complimentary chocolate" on his pillow. The ad then cuts to the man's room, where the Red M&M is lying on his pillow.
Michael Johnson & Jason Sehorn are a track; about face each other in a race. Just before the gun fires, a third entrant appears; a jockey riding a horse named "Lightning Bolt". The race begins with Johnson in the lead but then Bolt overtakes Johnson for the top spot. However, right when that takes place, another entrant appears; John Andretti in his NASCAR Stock Car. The ad ends with Andretti taking off and the other three contestants sprinting off in cartoonish fashion.

The ad begins with a man in the 1950s boarding a subway train. As he approaches his seat on the train car, he notices a Cadillac advertisement outside his window, featuring the Eldorado. The train begins moving, and several more Eldorado advertisements are passed by before exiting the tunnel, where this time a real Eldorado appears. Just as the Eldorado shows up, several modern Cadillac models (CTS, Escalade, SRX, XLR) appear as well, before the train car stops. When the man walks out of the train car, we see him now dressed in contemporary clothing and the setting has changed to the 2000s.
Five dentists are given a survey: to see if they recommend Trident Gum or not. The first four say "Yes", but a squirrel bites the last dentist and screams "No"; thus, leaving the total of recommendations, 4 out 5.

Parodying Antiques Roadshow, a man brings a landline telephone on the show, to see how much it is worth. The ad ends with the host of the show telling the man that the worth of the phone is $0.

A donkey narrates his life story, where he dreams of becoming a Budweiser Clydesdale. He trains and trains, even going to the trouble of putting puffy hooves on his feet. When his job interview comes, the five Clydesdale horses ask why he should become a Clydesdale. He responds with a donkey sound, and gets the job.
Homer Simpson is doing some errands such as buying beer instead of diapers, an oil change, and a haircut. Homer seems to know of the narrator's existence, finally being fed up with him at Moe's Bar, muttering the words "stupid voice-over guy".
A teen drops a bag of Lay's chips. An elderly woman tries to get the chips, only to get knocked over by an elderly man's cane. The man grabs the bag, only to realize that the woman has his dentures. The teen comes back and takes the Lay's chips, and plants a kiss on the man.
An executive for a popsicle company, "Shards O' Glass," provides disclaimers for their product – a popsicle with shards of glass in it, clearly unsafe and deadly – and posed the question, "What if all companies sold products like tobacco?"[126]
People try to win $1,000, by trying to dunk a basketball on the back a moving truck advertising a slam dunk competition for 7 Up and driven by Godfrey.[127][128]
When two grizzly bears rob a cottage, they find no Pepsi anywhere. One of the bears steals the resident's ID and disguises himself as the person. Then, he buys Pepsi at a convenience store.
Pepsi "Hendrix"
In Seattle, 1953, a young Jimi Hendrix walks down a city sidewalk. When he sees a Pepsi machine and Coke machine, he chooses the Pepsi machine. At the machine, he sees a Fender Telecaster electric guitar in a pawn shop. If he had gone to the Coke machine, he would have bought an accordion. The screen then says, "Whew...that was a close one." In the background, Hendrix's "Purple Haze" is playing; at first as the original recording, then on accordion.
To avoid the heat, a man jumps from the balcony at his apartment and lands in an ice-cold water pitcher. The ad ends with his dog following suit and landing in a glass of water next to him.
During a Football game, a team is about to run a play and attempt a touchdown. The Quarterback, however, gets distracted by the softness of the Charmin toilet paper that is hanging from the center's waistband. Due to holding the game up, the quarterback gets penalized and leaves his teammates frustrated. The team wonders why their towels were replaced with toilet paper, before the Charmin Bear (in the form of a sports team mascot) reveals himself to be one who did it.
Mikey, Paul Jr, and Paul Sr. build a chopper that runs on AOL's 9.0 Top Speed Speed technology. The trio attempts to jump the bike over a row of cement trucks, but the bike is so powerful, it ends up flying outside of the race track they are at, leaving Mikey with a neck brace.
Paul Teutul Sr., Jr., and Mikey use AOL's 9.0 Top Speed technology to power a mobile scooter. When performing a test run of the scooter, it ends up shooting Mikey into the sky.
Two guys at a Football game send photos to another friend who isn't at the game. The friend who isn't at the game responds by sending photos of him at the apartment that belongs to one of the guys at game and with that guy's girlfriend.
A skydiver instructor tries to offer a case of Bud Light to a Skydiver, who is to afraid to jump, only to have the pilot grab the case and jump out of the plane.
All kinds of animals come to the Budweiser Clydesdale farm to become a Clydesdale. A driver looks at the donkey from last year's Budweiser commercial and says, "Now look what you've started."
At a crowded bar, Cedric The Entertainer uses various hand gestures to inform someone that he is the designated driver. The gestures being made, ends up becoming a dance that everyone in the bar partakes in.

Pedestrians are in an airport, minding their own business. People start clapping. Then, everyone is clapping, as it is revealed they are clapping for soldiers coming home from war. At the end, a title card says, "Thank you." Director: Joe Pytka.
Brad Pitt buys a six-pack of Heineken at a corner shop. Soon, he is being chased by a mob of paparazzi. It ends with an anonymous phone call. Director: David Fincher
Three Cadillac V-Series cars slowly pull into a tunnel before coming to a stop, similar to that of a bullet being placed inside a gun. Each car lights up, revs, and quickly takes off and rockets out of the tunnel. The ad ends with the narrator saying "Bang".
Richard Branson is launched into space in a rocket ship, with a giant bumper sticker slapped onto the rocket that reads "My Other Vehicle Is A Volvo XC90
V8". The ad also promoted a sweepstakes where one could win a trip to space, via Virgin Galactic.
Various Marvel Superheroes, including Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, and Storm, come to help a woman who is calling for help; only to find out that her stolen Visa Check Card isn't liable for fraudulent charges.
Thanks to throwing a bag of Lay's Potato Chips over a fence, a group of kids get their baseball back. After the kids successfully get their ball back, a dog, a 1972 Chevrolet Impala, and MC Hammer all are tossed over the fence as well.
Determined to have the best Super Bowl commercial, FedEx researched past Super Bowl commercials and found 10 things that they believe will help them win, all of which are included in this ad: a celebrity (Burt Reynolds), an animal (a bear), a dancing animal (still the bear), a cute kid, a groin kick, a talking animal (still the bear), attractive females, a product message, a famous pop song ("Don't Stop Believin"), and a bonus ending.

P. Diddy is late for an awards show, so he hitches a ride on a Diet Pepsi truck. After the arrival, everyone starts driving Diet Pepsi trucks, being the next big thing.
An auctioneer is hired to officiate a wedding ceremony to make it go by faster so everyone can enjoy the Bud Light at the reception sooner.

A man and woman driving down a dark road encounter a hitchhiker with an axe and a case of Bud Light. The hitchhiker claims the axe is a bottle opener, and the man invites him in for a ride, to the woman's shock. Later, they encounter another hitchhiker with a case of Bud Light, except he also has a chainsaw.
Bud Light "Rock Paper Scissors"
Two men play rock paper scissors for the last bottle of Bud Light at a cookout. One of the men throws a rock at the other man's head, knocking him to the ground and allowing him to get the last bottle.

Fist bumps have fallen out of style and are replaced by slaps to the face.
Bud Light "Great Apes"
One gorilla at a zoo tells a fellow gorilla about his plan to steal some Bud Light from a delivery man who passes by them every Friday, saying that he is the only one who can do it. However, he is distracted by a woman taking pictures of him and doesn't know what was said to him until the delivery man has just passed by them.
At a snowy location, a couple partakes in 'warm' weather activities, such as golfing and kayaking. As they are enjoying themselves, the environment they are in, changes from cold and snowy to warm and tropical.[133][134]
Kevin Federline appears in a music video rapping about living a high-flying lifestyle. The scene then cuts to him rapping into a security camera at a fast food restaurant, where his manager yells at him to get back to work.

In response to this, another man steps out of his car, grabs his Garmin GPS, and becomes an Ultraman-inspired hero; who fights and defeats the evil monster. Three cavemen are trying to carry a cooler of Bud Light to a party. A friend says that he has invented the wheel. But the wheel is not working when they use it as hoister to carry the Bud Light. They later try to use a large rock to open a bottle, but end up smashing the bottle instead.
Bud Light "Breathe Fire"
A man gains the ability to breathe fire after drinking Bud Light, which he uses to light candles before eating a romantic dinner at his girlfriend's house. However, he is allergic to her cat and starts sneezing, shooting large flames out of his mouth and setting several things on fire in the process.
Bud Light "Ability to Fly"
A man gains the ability to fly after drinking Bud Light. He happily soars above the clouds, but is then sucked into the jet engine of a passing airplane.
For the Budweiser Clydesdales this year, Hank the Clydesdale is not picked. A dalmatian sees this and offers to train Hank for next year. An impressed worker asks if he will get a raise today, and throws the crystal ball at his boss in the groin. The first worker comes over, happily eating Doritos, and says, "Not today!" Betty White is playing football and keeps getting tackled. A woman gives her a Snickers bar and says, "Try this". White turns back into a man. Abe Vigoda is then seen being tackled, to which he responds, "That hurt." It is considered[by whom?] one of the best commercials in the Super Bowl. It was also nominated for an Emmy.[146]
Men go over the rules of life which they hate. The final man thinks, "And because I do this, I will drive the car I want to drive." Narrated by Michael C. Hall.
Two guys, one named Paul and the other named Mike, are given a task; to find out what "I surrender" means in Japanese. Paul uses the web to search for this answer, while Mike texts kgb. During all of this a sumo wrestler is standing next to them, poised to take on both men at any moment. Mike quickly gets a response back from kgb. He is able to give the correct answer to the sumo, bow, and quickly leave. While Paul on the other hand, responds to the sumo, incorrectly, by saying "Bring it on fat man" in Japanese. This angers the sumo and causes him to come charging towards Paul. The ad ends with the sumo sitting on top of Paul.[148]
Jim Nantz does an Injury Report on a man who "lost his spine" from missing out on watching live sports, due to shopping at the mall with his girlfriend.[149]
A man is seen staring at a woman's butt as she walks into the other room. He then tries to start a conversation with the girlfriend's kid. When he reaches for a Dorito, the kid slaps him, saying, "Keep your hands off my Mama, keep your hands off my Doritos."

A dog wants Doritos from a man sitting on a bench. The man says it'll have to speak, but it is wearing an anti-bark collar. The dog comes back, and attaches the collar to the man, who lies on the ground, speaking gibberish. The dog walks away with the bag of Doritos.

A man who recently faked his death is in his coffin, watching the Super Bowl and in a pool of Doritos. The casket flies open, and he screams, "It's a miracle!"
Doritos "Tim"
At a gym, a man has stolen Doritos out of Tim's locker. His friend tries to warn him, but Tim transforms into a Dorito-wearing ninja.
In a 2010 NBA interpretation of the 1993 Showdown commercial, NBA stars Dwight Howard and LeBron James play a slam dunk version of H-O-R-S-E, with the same prize as before. Larry Bird, who stated "no dunking" in the original Showdown with Michael Jordan, cashes in by eating the Big Mac and fries prize after Howard shatters the backboard.
Mr. Burns goes bankrupt and loses everything. While in a walk in the park, he sees people enjoying his things and Coke bottles. Apu notices that Burns is sad, and gives him a Coke since he was carrying two armfuls of Coke. Milhouse is standing in a makeshift kite and bumps into the Coca-Cola logo. He says "Ah Sorry Coke!" while the theme tune plays.

An anonymous user (most likely a man) is using Google for help by using its search engine. Over the course, it tells a story about how the user goes to Paris for college, meets a French woman, falls in love, buys her chocolate, gets married, and has a child.
A couple appears on a home makeover show called "Hack Job", discovering the only thing they have done to their kitchen was put a bucket of Bud Light on the counter.
A narrator talks about how Detroit has its history, but it should be respected like any other town. Rapper Eminem is driving through Detroit in his Chrysler, until he reaches the Fox Theatre. He concludes that, "This is the Motor City, and this is what we do." The song "Lose Yourself" by said artist is playing throughout the commercial. The commercial is two minutes long, and one of the longest commercials in Super Bowl history. The ad received critical acclaim.
Mercedes-Benz cars from all across the globe start up and drive off on their own power. The vehicles all arrive at the same spot, a Mercedes dealership, where the latest models are revealed. Sean "Diddy" Combs appears in the ad as one of the owners who notices their Mercedes driving off.[151][152]
A kid dressed as Darth Vader tries the Force on random objects, but fails. When his father comes home in his Volkswagen, the kid tries to use the Force to start the engine. He succeeds, or so he thinks. This was voted No. 9 on YouTube's Top 10 Videos of 2011.

Doritos "Teasing"
A boyfriend teases his girlfriend's dog by waving Doritos around from the inside of a glass door. Instead of the dog running into the door, the dog crashes through the door, squishing the man.
Eminem (in stop-motion form) tells the viewer why he doesn't appear in commercials. His requirements for appearing in an advertisement are for attractive women to appear, the ad to be filmed at his house, and for him to record the songs in the ad by himself. He follows that up by telling the viewer that once it's time to record the commercial, he ends up hating the product and the commercial is shelved. After all that, he then is handed a can of Brisk, declares his approval of the beverage and adds a new demand for appearing in an advertisement, changing the name of the drink. However, an executive steps in and tells Eminem that the name change demand is not possible. Eminem replies by shoving the executive off the building they are on top of (in the shape of a Brisk can) and reiterates by telling the viewer why he doesn't appear in commercials.[153][154]
