Wayang Bangsawan

Wayang Bangsawan atau Teater Bangsawan (Jawi: بڠساون) adalah teater rakyat tradisional yang hidup di Kepulauan Riau dan Kepulauan Lingga, Indonesia, serta berkembang pula di kawasan Malaysia dan Brunei Darussalam. Teater ini dapat dimainkan semua lapisan masyarakat, dari nelayan hingga guru.

Teater ini adalah pertunjukan stambul atau komedi yang menggabungkan musik, drama dan tari serta mengangkat kisah-kisah di lingkungan istana. Cerita-cerita yang sering diangkat adalah kisah tentang Hang Tuah Lima Bersaudara, Sultan Mahmud Mangkat Dijulang dan Laksamana Bintan.

Menurut sejarah, teater ini dikembangkan oleh masyarakat Persia atau Parsi yang pindah ke India karena pertentangan ideologi di tanah airnya. Teater ini lalu berkembang di Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, dan menyebar pula ke Indonesia, termasuk Riau, Bengkulu, Sumatera Selatan, dan Kalimantan Selatan, tetapi teater ini lebih lekat dengan kebudayaan Kepulauan Riau.
