Taman Mayura dibangun oleh Anak Agung Gde Ngurah Karangasem pada 1866, berjarak 2 km dari timur Mataram.[1]

Taman Mayura adalah sebuah taman yang dibangun oleh raja sebagai kompleks istana raja. Taman Mayura juga memiliki kediaman kerajaan dalam hal diduduki oleh raja saat beristirahat di taman, yang sekarang berada di Padmasana.[2]
