Sudargo Gautama memiliki nama asli Gouw Giok Siong (1928?–8 September 2008) adalah seorang pakar hukum perdata internasional dan hukum antargolongan. Dia meraih gelar doktor di Universitas Indonesia, dengan disertasi: Segi-Segi Hukum Peraturan Perkawinan Campuran pada tahun 1955.

Pada awalnya Gautama diberi peluang peningkatan karier oleh Prof. Mr. G.J. Resink dan Prof. Djokosoetono, S.H., Dimana Resink memverinya dua peluang peningkatan karier kepadanya: menjadi promotor promosi doktor, dan mengundurkan diri sebagai lektor Fakultas Hukum Universitas Indonesia sehingga memungkinkan Gautama mengisi lowongan yang ditinggalkan. Dan Prof. Djokosoetono merestui Gautama sebagai guru besar.[1]

Gautama memulai kariernya sebagai pengacara berkat uluran tangan (Alm) Prof. Iwa Kusumasumantri. Prof. Iwa mengajak Gautama ikut bekerja dikantor pengacara yang didirikannya bersama Mr. A.A. Maramis.[1]

Profesor Sudargo Gautama meninggal di Perth, Australia pada tanggal 8 September 2008 pada usia 80 tahun.
