Pelabuhan Tanjung Api-api adalah pelabuhan penyeberangan laut yang terletak di Kabupaten Banyuasin, kurang lebih 68 Km dari Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. Pelabuhan ini menghubungkan Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan Provinsi Bangka Belitung, tepatnya Pelabuhan Tanjung Kalian di Bangka. Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Tanjung Api-api dibangun sejak 2004 dan selesai pada 2007. Pelabuhan ini dibangun karena adanya usulan dari pemerintah Provinsi Sumatera Selatan sebagai mengganti Pelabuhan Penyeberangan 35 Ilir Palembang. Gubernur Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, Alex Noerdin meresmikan pelabuhan ini pukul 10.00 WIB pada 11 Desember 2013.[1]

Pelabuhan ini adalah salah satu pelabuhan besar di Indonesia yang terintegrasi dengan kawasan ekonomi khusus (KEK) Tanjung Api-api. Pelabuhan ini juga direncanakan terintegrasi dengan jalur kereta api batu bara dari Tanjung Enim ke Tanjung Api-api. Selain itu direncanakan juga akan dibangun jalan tol dari Palembang menuju Tanjung Api api. Beberapa industri seperti rubber, CPO, industri mie instant & pergudangan sudah berdiri di kawasan industri tanjung api-api. Dengan terintegrasinya kawasan industri dengan pelabuhan internasional, serta infrastruktur penunjang lainnya. diharapkan kawasan industri dan Pelabuhan Tanjung Api-api akan menjadi kawasan industri yang berkembang dan diharapkan dapat menyerap tenaga kerja.[2]

Fasilitas

Pelabuhan Tanjung Api-api memiliki dermaga seluas (50x20) m², trestle (121,25x8) m², causeway (96x8) m², lapangan penumpukan (51 x 48) m², dermaga peti kemas, lapangan kontainer, gedung kantor, pagar pelabuhan, gapura, signpost darat dan laut, dan pos jaga.[3]

Dampak

Dengan adanya pelabuhan ini diharapkan kawasan Banyuasin berkembang, sehingga pendapatan asli daerah provinsi Sumatera Selatan meningkat dan diharapkan juga kawasan industri dan pelabuhan tanjung api-api akan menjadi kawasan industri yang baru dan berkembang, serta dapat menyerap tenaga kerja. Selain itu, pelabuhan ini mempersingkat jarak tempuh dari Pulau Sumatra ke Bangka Belitung menjadi sekitar 4 jam saja.[1]
