Kasidah (qasidah, qasida; bahasa Arab: "قصيدة", bahasa Persia: قصیده atau چكامه dibaca: chakameh) adalah bentuk syair epik kesusastraan Arab yang dinyanyikan. Penyanyi menyanyikan lirik berisi puji-pujian (dakwah keagamaan dan satire) untuk kaum muslim.[1]

Kasidah adalah seni suara yang bernapaskan Islam, di mana lagu-lagunya banyak mengandung unsur-unsur dakwah Islamiyah dan nasihat-nasihat baik sesuai ajaran Islam. Biasanya lagu-lagu itu dinyanyikan dengan irama penuh kegembiraan yang hampir menyerupai irama-irama Timur Tengah dengan diiringi rebana, yaitu sejenis alat tradisional yang terbuat dari kayu, dibuat dalam bentuk lingkaran yang dilobangi pada bagian tengahnya kemudian di tempat yang dilobangi itu di tempel kulit binatang yang telah dibersihkan bulu-bulunya.

Awalnya rebana berfungsi sebagai instrument dalam menyayikan lagu-lagu keagamaan berupa pujian-pujian terhadap Allah swt dan rasul-rasul-Nya, salawat, syair-syair Arab, dan lain lain.[2] Oleh karena itulah ia disebut rebana yang berasal dari kata rabbana, artinya wahai Tuhan kami (suatu doa dan pujian terhadap Tuhan)

Lagu kasidah modern liriknya juga dibuat dalam bahasa Indonesia selain Arab. Grup kasidah modern membawa seorang penyanyi bintang yang dibantu paduan suara wanita. Alat musik yang dimainkan adalah rebana dan mandolin, disertai alat-alat modern, misalnya: biola, gitar listrik, keyboard dan flute.[2] Perintis kasidah modern adalah grup Nasida Ria dari Semarang yang semuanya perempuan. Lagu yang top yakni Perdamaian dari Nasida Ria. Pada tahun 1970-an, Bimbo, Koes Plus dan AKA mengedarkan album kasidah modern.
