International Women of Courage Award, juga disebut sebagai U.S. Secretary of State's International Women of Courage Award, adalah sebuah penghargaan Amerika yang dipersembahkan setiap tahun oleh Kementerian Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat kepada wanita di seluruh dunia yang menunjukkan kepemimpinan, keberanian, pengakalan dan kehendak untuk mengorbankan hal lainnya, khususnya dalam mempromosikan hak wanita.

Riwayat

Penghargaan tersebut dibentuk pada 2007 oleh Menteri Luar Negeri Amerika Serikat Condoleezza Rice[1] pada Hari Wanita Internasional, sebuah perayaan tahun yang diadakan setiap 8 Maret di banyak negara di seluruh dunia. Setiap kedubes AS memiliki hak untuk merekomendasikan satu wanita sebagai kandidat.[2]
