Death at a Funeral adalah film Amerika Serikat produksi tahun 2010 bergenre ensemble comedy yang disutradarai oleh Neil LaBute. Film ini merupakan produksi ulang dari film Inggris dengan judul sama yang dirilis tahun 2007. Peter Dinklage merupakan satu-satunya yang bermain kembali dalam film daur ulang ini.[5][5][6]

Latar belakang

Pemakaman seharusnya menjadi saat-saat paling mengharukan namun kadang di saat berduka seperti ini kekonyolan sering kali terjadi karena orang lupa bahwa ia tak bisa sepenuhnya menjadi dirinya sendiri. Kurang lebih itulah pesan yang ingin disampaikan film berjudul Death at Funeral ini. Film garapan sutradara Neil LaBute ini sebenarnya adalah remake dari film berjudul sama yang beredar pada tahun 2007. Bedanya, kali ini kisah sedih yang dibuat lelucon itu diadaptasi ke keluarga kulit hitam, sementara lokasi pun diusung dari Inggris ke Amerika. Film aslinya sendiri berkisah tentang pemakaman ayah Daniel yang tiba-tiba jadi kacau ketika saudara-saudara Daniel datang untuk memberikan penghormatan terakhir pada ayah mereka. Ada saudara Daniel yang terlalu pelit untuk membiayai pemakaman ayahnya sementara yang lain malah merasa tegang karena ingin membuat kesan baik pada calon mertuanya. Di tengah kemelut yang tiba-tiba terjadi itu muncul seorang pria yang mengungkap sisi misterius dari mendiang ayah Daniel dan membuat geger seluruh keluarga.
