Aturan Chatham House (bahasa Inggris: Chatham House Rule) adalah sebuah aturan yang mengatur bahwa seorang peserta rapat dapat menggunakan informasi yang ia dapatkan dari rapat tersebut, namun tidak boleh untuk membocorkan siapa yang berkomentar. Aturan ini bertujuan untuk menganjurkan keterbukaan dalam diskusi dan memungkinkan debat dalam isu-isu kontroversial. Aturan ini pertama kali diperkenalkan pada bulan Juni 1927 dan mendapat namanya dari Royal Institute of International Affairs, sebuah lembaga riset dan pemikiran yang berkantor di Gedung Chatham (Chatham House) di London.[1]

Aturan

Aturan ini diciptakan pada tahun 1927 dan diperbaharui pada tahun 1992. Perubahan terakhir adalah pada tahun 2002, yang menghasilkan aturan yang berbunyi:[2]

Ketika sebuah rapat digelar menggunakan aturan Chatham House, peserta rapat dapat menggunakan informasi yang didapatkan dari rapat tersebut, namun identitas maupun afiliasi dari pemberi informasi, ataupun peserta rapat lain, tidak boleh dibocorkan.

Aturan ini telah diadopsi dan diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Arab, Tionghoa, Perancis, Jerman, Portugis, Spanyol, dan Rusia.[3]
