ADK Holdings Inc.[2] berbisnis dengan nama ADK (berarti: Asatsu Dai-ichi Kikaku Holdings Inc.), atau lebih dikenal dengan nama Asatsu-DK, adalah sebuah agen periklanan asal Jepang. Berkantor pusat di kompleks gedung Toranomon Hills di Minato, Tokyo sejak bulan Juni 2014 (sebelumnya di Tsukiji, Chūō, Tokyo), perusahaan ini adalah agen periklanan terbesar ketiga di Jepang, setelah Dentsu dan Hakuhodo.[1] Perusahaan ini memiliki 80 kantor di lebih dari 20 negara. Salah satunya, Asatsu-DK Europe, didirikan pada tahun 1993 di Amsterdam, Belanda. Bain Capital menjadi pemilik perusahaan ini sejak tahun 2018.

Sejarah

Asatsu Inc. didirikan pada tahun 1956[3] oleh Masao Inagaki. Pada bulan Agustus 1998, Asatsu mulai bermitra dengan WPP Group. Pada tanggal 1 Januari 1999, Asatsu bergabung dengan Dai-ichi Kikaku Co., Ltd. (didirikan pada tahun 1951) untuk membentuk Asatsu-DK (DK merupakan singkatan dari Dai-ichi Kikaku). Masao Inagaki meninggal pada tanggal 16 April 2015.[4] Pada bulan Oktober 2017, diberitakan bahwa Bain Capital berniat membeli Asatsu-DK dengan harga ¥152 milyar ($1,35 milyar).[5]

Pada tanggal 1 Januari 2019, diberitakan bahwa Asatsu-DK mengakuisisi seluruh saham d-rights, yang sebelumnya dimiliki bersama Mitsubishi Corporation.[6][7]

Anak usaha dan afiliasi

Perusahaan ini memiliki sejumlah afiliasi, antara lain rumah produksi NAS dan d-rights; studio animasi Eiken; studio animasi Gonzo; Nihon Bungeisha Publishing; pemroses film dan cetak Taiyo Seihan; studio produksi Sun Artist Studio, Supervision Inc.; rumah produksi iklan televisi Prime Pictures; dan perusahaan jasa kreatif Tokyo Ad Party.[8]

Asatsu-DK juga terlibat dalam memproduksi dan menyediakan jasanya untuk sejumlah seri anime, termasuk seri terbaru dari Gundam karya Sunrise, seperti seri terbaru Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Turn A Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED dan Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, serta sejumlah judul anime lain.
