William Sisley'in portresi

William Sisley'nin Portresi, Fransız asıllı ressam Pierre-Auguste Renoir'ın 1864'te Salon ve Fontainebleau döneminin başlarında yaptığı tuval üzerine yağlı boya tablodur. MWS Portresi adı altında sergilenen ve artık kaybolmuş olduğu düşünülen Yaz Akşamı (Soirée d'été) ile birlikte, 1865'te düzenlenen salon etlinliğinde kabul edilen bir eser olarak bilinmektedir. Muhtemelen mali zorluklarında kendisine yardımcı olması için arkadaşı Alfred Sisley tarafından Renoir'den görevlendirilmişti. Bu resim, İngiliz bir baba olan William'ın Fransa'da işadamı olarak doğan oğlu Sisley tarafından tasvir edilmiştir. William Sisley'nin Portresi şu anda Musée d'Orsay'da saklanmaktadır.[1]

Bu erken dönem çalışma, Gustave Courbet gibi sanatçıların yanı sıra Renoir'in en beğendiği eserlerden olan Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres'in Neoklasizm tarafından örneklenen Renoir üzerindeki Realizm etkisini gösteriyor.[2]
