Jeffrey C. "J. C." Chandor, (d. 24 Kasım 1973) Daha çok 2011 yapımı Margin Call ve 2013 yapımı All Is Lost filmleriyle tanınan Amerikalı film yönetmeni ve senaristtir.

Hayatı ve kariyeri

1973 yılında doğan Chandor, Bernards Township, New Jersey'in Basking Ridge bölgesinde büyüdü.[1] 1992 yılında Ridge High School’dan mezun olduktan sonra lisans eğitimini 1996'da Ohio'daki College of Wooster'da tamamladı. Bu tarihten itibaren ilk filmi Margin Call'u yönetene kadar 15 yıl boyunca çeşitli televizyon reklamları çekti.

2005'te Despacito adında kısa bir film çeken Chandor, ilk uzun metrajlı filmi Margin Call'u 2011'de yazıp, yönetti. Kevin Spacey'in başrolde olduğu filmin ilk gösterimi 2011 Sundance Film Festivali'nde yapıldı. Film ayrıca 61. Berlin Film Festivali'nde gösterildi ve Altın Ayı'ya aday gösterildi. Chandor 24 Ocak 2012'de Margin Call'le En İyi Özgün Senaryo dalında Oscar'a aday gösterildi. Ancak ödülü Midnight in Paris filmiyle Woody Allen'a kaybetti.

J. C. Chandor'un ikinci filmi All Is Lost 2013 Cannes Film Festivali'nde yarışma dışı olarak gösterildi.[2][3] Diyaloğun olmadığı ve sadece Robert Redford'un oynadığı film, özellikle Redford'un performansıyla beğeni topladı. Robert Redford filmdeki oyunculuğuyla New York Film Critics Circle'da En İyi Oyuncu ödülünü kazanırken, film 86. Akademi Ödülleri'nde En İyi Ses Kurgusu dalında oscar adaylığı elde etti.

Chandor, 2014 yılında başrolünde Oscar Isaac ve Jessica Chastain'in yer aldığı A Most Violent Year filmini yönetti.[4]
