Ak kanatlı sumru (Chlidonias leucopterus), sumrugiller (Sternidae) familyasından bir kuş türü.

Özellikler

Yazda erişkin kuşların, kısa kırmızı bacakları ve kısa siyah bir gagası, siyah bir boynu ve karnı, çok koyu gri arkası, yavrularda çoğunlukla 'kare' olarak görülen hafif gri (neredeyse beyaz) kuyruk ve beyaz bir sağrı vardır. Yüz sarımsı renklidir. Kanatları ismini aldığı gibi çoğunlukla beyaz renklidir. İç kanat, kahverengi-uçlu örtü tüyleri ile grimsidir. Üreme dönemi harici kuş tüyünde, siyah olan yerler, beyaz veya soluk gri ile değiştirilir, birkaç siyahımsı tüy olmasına rağmen alt parçalar beyazdır. Baş, beyaz bir alınla siyahtır.

Habitat

Üreme habitatları, güneydoğu Avrupa'dan merkezi Asya'ya karşıda tatlısu bataklıklarıdır. Bataklık içinde yüzen bitki topluluklarına veya suya oldukça yakın olan yerlere, saz saplarından ya da diğer bitkilerden yaptıkları yuvalarına 2 ila 4 arası yumurta bırakıp, üzerine yatarlar. Kışın, Afrika, güney Asya ve Avustralya'ya göç ederler.
