Ang Ballao, (Ballau sa wikang Sardo), ay isang comune (komuna o munisipalidad) sa Lalawigan ng Timog Cerdeña, rehiyon ng Cerdeña, Italya, na matatagpuan mga 45 kilometro (28 mi) hilagang-silangan ng Cagliari, sa tradisyonal na subrehiyon ng Gerrei.

Ito ay itinatag noong mga 1300, nang ang mga naninirahan sa sinaunang burol na nayon ng Nuraxi ay lumipat sa kalapit na kapatagan, mas malapit sa ilog ng Flumendosa, upang mapabuti ang kanilang produksyon sa agrikultura. Ito ay tahanan ng Funtana Coberta, isang pook arkeolohiko ng Panahong Bronse.

Ang Ballao ay may hangganan sa mga sumusunod na munisipalidad: Armungia, Escalaplano, Goni, Perdasdefogu, San Nicolò Gerrei, Silius, at Villaputzu.
