วิลเลียม เจมส์ (อังกฤษ: William James; 11 มกราคม ค.ศ. 1842 – 26 สิงหาคม ค.ศ. 1910) เป็นนักปรัชญาและนักจิตวิทยาชาวอเมริกัน และเป็นนักการศึกษาคนแรกที่เปิดสอนหลักสูตรจิตวิทยา ในสหรัฐอเมริกา เจมส์ถือเป็นนักคิดชั้นนำในช่วงปลายศตวรรษที่ 19 หนึ่งในนักปรัชญาที่มีอิทธิพลมากที่สุดของสหรัฐอเมริกาและ "บิดาแห่งจิตวิทยาอเมริกัน"[1][2][3]

เจมส์ได้ก่อตั้งสำนักปรัชญาที่เรียกว่า ปฏิบัตินิยม ร่วมกับชาลส์ แซนเดอส์ เพิร์ซ และยังได้รับการยกย่องว่าเป็นหนึ่งในผู้ก่อตั้งจิตวิทยาการหน้าที่ จากข้อมูลใน Review of General Psychology ที่ตีพิมพ์ในปี ค.ศ. 2002 จัดอันดับเจมส์ให้เป็นนักจิตวิทยาที่มีชื่อเสียงมากที่สุดเป็นอันดับ 14 ของศตวรรษที่ 20[4] การสำรวจที่ตีพิมพ์ใน American Psychologist ในปี 1991 จัดอันดับชื่อเสียงของเจมส์ไว้ในอันดับที่สอง รองจากวิลเฮ็ล์ม วุนต์ ซึ่งได้รับการยกย่องอย่างกว้างขวางว่าเป็นผู้ก่อตั้งจิตวิทยาเชิงทดลอง[5] เจมส์ยังพัฒนาแนวคิดทางปรัชญาที่เรียกว่า ประสบการณ์นิยมสุดโต่ง
