Vlajka Albánska

Súčasná vlajka Albánska

Vlajka Albánska (alb. Flamuri i Shqipërisë) pozostáva z červeného pozadia a dvojhlavého čierneho orla uprostred. Je odvodená od pečate národného hrdinu Albánska Skanderbega. Pomer strán je 5:7. Vlajka bola oficiálne prijatá 7. apríla 1992, ale s miernymi modifikáciami bola používaná už Albánskym kráľovstvom (nad orlom bola vyobrazená Skanderbegova prilba), či povojnovým komunistickým štátom (nad orlom bola pätcípa hviezda s červenou výplňou a žltým lemovaním).

Dvojhlavý orol symbolizuje náboženské rozdelenie Albáncov, keď boli Albánci rozdelení na katolíkov a pravoslávnych. Jeho "otvorené" krídla symbolizujú odmietanie Albáncov podrobiť sa zahraničnému dobytiu.
