James Robert Wallace, Baron Wallace of Tankerness, PC, KC, FRSE (born 25 August 1954) is a Scottish politician serving as a Liberal Democrat life peer in the British House of Lords since 2007 and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland from 2021 to 2022.^[1] He was the Deputy First Minister of Scotland from 1999 to 2005. He was the acting First Minister twice in 2000 and 2001. He was formerly Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats from 1992 to 2005 and Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords from 2013 to 2016.
