The Canadian National Railway Company (French: Compagnie des Chemins de Fer Nationaux du Canada) is a Class I railway. Its headquarters are in Montreal, Quebec. It serves Canada and both the Midwestern and Southern United States. In 2011, Bill Gates was the largest single shareholder of CN stock.[1] CN owns around 20,400 route miles (32,831 km) of track in eight provinces. There is also a 70-mile (113 km) stretch of track into the Northwest Territories, to Hay River on the southern shore of Great Slave Lake.[2]
