Norra Österbotten på Commons

Norra Österbotten (finsk: Pohjois-Pohjanmaa) er et landskap i Finland. Landskapet ligger ved Bottenvikens østre kyst. Administrasjonssetet i landskapet er Uleåborg. Dette er samtidig den største byen i Nord-Finland. Norra Österbotten grenser til landskapene Lappland, Kajanaland, Norra Savolax, Mellersta Finland og Mellersta Österbotten. Mot øst grenser det til Kvitsjø-karelske områder i russisk Karelia.

Kommuner og regioner

Det finnes 30 kommuner i Norra Österbotten hvorav 11 bykommuner. I de siste årene ble følgende kommunesammenslåinger gjennomført. Den 1. januar 2009 ble kommunene Kestilä, Piippola, Pulkkila og Rantsila slått sammen til den nye kommunen Siikalatva og Ylikiiminki ble slått sammen med Uleåborg. Den 1. januar 2010 ble Himango kommune fra Mellersta Österbotten slått sammen med Kalajoki.

Kommunene i landskapet utgjør syv økonomiske regioner. Nedenstående oversikt viser hvordan kommunene fordeler seg på de syv økonomiske regionene. Byene er oppført med fet skrift.
