Dialektisk teologi

Dialektisk teologi eller neo-ortodoks teologi eller barthianisme er en protestantisk teologisk retning som oppstod etter 1. verdenskrig i Tyskland og Sveits og var en reaksjon mot den liberale teologi.

Grunnleggende for retningens teologiske metode er motsetningen (jf. dialektikk) mellom Gud og menneske. Søren Kierkegaards utlegning av forskjellen mellom kristen og sokratisk religion, i boken Philosophiske Smuler, legger grunnlaget for den dialektiske teologis syn på åpenbaring og tro. Dialektisk teologi avviser enhver form for naturlig teologi og hevder at åpenbaringen av Gud er, hva han har gjort og hva han gjør alene er å finne i Guds ord. Barths uttrykk for dette, fra den dialektiske teologis programskrift Brevet til romerne (1922), er at åpenbaringen kommer «senkrecht von oben» (loddrett ovenfra).

Viktige representanter for retningen er Karl Barth, Emil Brunner, Friedrich Gogarten, Rudolf Bultmann, Georg Metz, Eduard Thurneysen og Dietrich Bonhoeffer.[1]
