Trampfart

Ein trampbåt i 1950.

Trampfart er eit omgrep nytta om skip som går i lausfart, det vil sei utan faste ruter eller avgangstider. Skip i trampfart kan derfor vere tørrlast- eller tankskip, men ofte har det vore korn, kol, malm, sukker og trelast som vart frakta i trampfart. Ein båt som går i trampfart er stundom blitt kalla ein trampbåt.

Omgrepet vert i dag nytta om fart der skipet er bortfrakta for éi reise om gangen. Det motsette er linjefart.

Ordet tramp kjem frå engelsk og tyder eigentleg landstrykar eller loffar.
