Sinonim

Uropeltidae ialah sekeluarga ular pengorek primitif yang endemik di selatan India dan Sri Lanka. Namanya berasal dari perkataan Yunani ura ("ekor") dan pelte ("perisai") sempena perisai keratin yang besar di hujung ekornya. Kini dikenalpastinya lapan genus yang merangkumi 47 spesies.[2] Tidak satu pun ular ini yang berbisa.[3]

Pembiakan

Kesemua ahli keluarga ular ini menyimpan telur yang menetas di dalam badan ibu.[4]
