Mejar Robert Henry Cain VC ialah seorang pemenang anugerah pingat Victoria Cross semasa pertempuran di Arnhem, belanda ketikaOperasi Market-Garden. Robert Henry Cain berasal dari Rejimen Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, tetapi telah ditempatkan untuk berkhidmat dengan Batalion ke-2 Rejimen South Staffordshire semasa Perang Dunia II.

Mejar Robert Henry Cain menjadi pegawai pemerintah Kompeni “B” Batalion ke-2 Rejimen South Staffordshire. Mejar Cain mengetuai kompeninya untuk mara ke Jambatan Arnhem untuk menguatkan pasukan yang bertahan di sana. Mejar Cain sendiri mengetuai askar-askarnya dalam pertempuran dari rumah ke rumah di pinggir bandar Arnhem walaupun menghadapi tentangan daripada pasukan kereta kebal dan tentera mekanis Jerman. Tetapi, usaha mereka gagal dan apabila kehabisan peluru antikereta kebal, Mejar Cain terpaksa akur dengan arahan untuk berundur ke perimeter pertahanan di Oosterbeek.

Dalam hari-hari berikutnya, Mejar Cain bertekad untuk memusnahkan seberapa banyak kenderaan perisai Jerman. Dengan hanya bersenjatakan PIAT dan selalunya berseorangan, Mejar Cain akan meluru ke tempat-tempat pertahanan yang diserang pasukan kereta kebal Jerman untuk membantu menangkis serangan tersebut. Mejar Cain dikreditkan sebagai memusnahkan 4 buah kereta kebal Tiger dan 2 buah kereta kebal yang lain, selain meriam SP dan kereta perisai yang lain. Mejar Cain mendapat cedera di muka dan gegendang telinganya koyak. Mejar Cain terus memimpin yang menyemarakkan anggotanya sehinggalah saat pengunduran akhir apabila beliau menyeberangi Sungai Rhine dalam perahu yang sedang karam dengan hanya menggunakan pangkal raifel sebagai pengayuh.
