Ļaks.

Ļaks (latgaliešu: ļaks) ir viens no Latgales keramikas saimniecības trauku tipiem, kas paredzēts eļļas uzglabāšanai.

Ļaks jeb eļļas trauks kā proporcijās, tā siluetā var būt līdzīgs vārauniekam — ar spraigu izliekumu plecos un strauju augšas sarāvumu, kas noslēdzas ar šauru kakliņu un pavērtām maliņām. Kakliņš var būt arī konusveida ar vertikāla virzījuma būvķermeni. Ļaks var līdzināties arī apvērstam vārauniekam. Ļaka kakliņu aizbāž ar māla aizbāzni, bet ja tā nav, to izgriež no kāda dārzeņa. Ļakam, atšķirībā no citiem traukiem, nav noteiktu proporciju, tas var būt gan placināts, gan pastiepts uz augšu. Tam var būt viena vai divas osiņas, var arī nebūt. Ja tās ir, tad osiņas ir veidotas vertikālā līmējumā, veidotas šaurākas vai platākas. Ļaku vāpē no iekšpuses, bet ārpusei visbiežāk vāpē tikai augšmalu. Ļaku dekorē, īpaši bagātīgi tā augšdaļu, izmantojot virpas līkločus, krāsotu mālu ierautiem punktiņiem, Austras kokiem, jumtiņiem, ko veic ar otu vai radziņu.

Eļļas trauks pasargā no izgarošanas, tāpēc to izmanto eļļas un petrolejas ilgākai uzglabāšanai. Taču to izmanto arī citu šķidrumu uzglabāšanai vai līdzi ņemšanai uz pļavām vai dodoties tālākos ceļos kā ūdenim, pienam, alum, bērzu sulām.[1]

Tā kā ļaks ir visai nestabils trauks, to, lai pasargātu no sadauzīšanas, bieži aptin ar bērza tāss loksnēm.
