Jānis Vaišļa (1969. gada 15. maijs — 2016. gada 9. janvāris) bija latviešu raidījumu vadītājs, ceļotājs un mūziķis. 2008. gada Eirovīzijas dziesmu konkursa dalībnieks grupas Pirates of the Sea sastāvā.

Biogrāfija

Jānis Vaišļa ir darbojies Rīgas Tehniskās universitātes Studentu klubā un Rīgas Anglikāņu Svētā Pestītāja baznīcā. Latvijas Republikai atjaunojot neatkarību, piedalījies studentu korporācijas «Selonija» darbības atjaunošanā.[1] 1990. gadu sākumā Vaišļa guva slavu, piedaloties radošajā apvienībā «Zvaigznīšu brīdis». Viņš kā aktieris piedalījās kinofilmās «Ceļojums uz Tukumu», «Kovačs» un «Sviests».[1]

No 2001. līdz 2003. gadam Vaišļa piedalījās jahtas «Milda» ceļojumā apkārt pasaulei. Viņš ir bijis «Radio Skonto» ētera personība, kā arī veidojis vairākus Latvijas Neatkarīgās televīzijas raidījumus. 2008. gadā piedalījās Eirovīzijas dziesmu konkursā grupas Pirates of the Sea sastāvā kopā ar Roberto Meloni un Aleksandru Kurusovu. No 2011. gada līdz savai nāvei Vaišļa strādāja jauniešu televīzijas kanālā Chaula.tv.[1]

Pēc veselības pasliktināšanās 2015. gada vasarā, decembrī Jānim Vaišļam tika diagnosticēta sirds amiloidoze. Tika uzsākta ziedošanas kampaņa ar mērki savākt 120 000 eiro, lai viņam veiktu ķīmijterapiju un sirds transplantāciju.[2] Vaišļa nomira naktī uz 2016. gada 9. janvāri slimnīcā Berlīnē, nesagaidījis sirds transplantāciju.[3]
