Septimijaus Severo arkos Romoje atikas su įrašu

Atikas (sen. gr. ἀττικός – ‘kilęs iš Atikos’) – dekoratyvinė statinio stogo sienelė virš viršutinio karnizo, pridengianti stogą ir užbaigianti fasadą. Atiku vadinamas ir pastato aukštas virš viršutinio karnizo.[1] Būna aklinas ir ažūrinis. Ažūrinis atikas būna baliustrados, arkados pavidalo, puoštas voliutomis, skulptūromis, vazomis; aklinas atikas – dekoruotas reljefais, įrašais.[2]

Atsirado senovės Graikijoje, seniausias žinomas pavyzdys – karvedžio Trasilo paminklas Atėnuose (neišlikęs). Senovės Romoje įrengti triumfo arkose, daugiausia puošybai ir įrašams, Nervos forume – sienų paaukštinimui (išlikęs fragmentas). Paplito Vidurio Europos šalių gotikos, renesanso, baroko ir klasicizmo architektūroje.[2] Kaip papildomas aukštas su langais atikas projektuotas Italijos renesanso architektų (Andrėjos Paladijaus vilos Venecijos srityje). Vienas didžiausių atikų (12 m aukščio) iškilęs virš Šv. Petro bazilikos antablemento Vatikane.[3] Savita puošnių atikų su pinakliais tradicija susiklostė Lenkijos vėlyvojo renesanso (manierizmo) architektūroje (attyka polska): Vavelio pilyje, Krasičyno pilyje ir kitur.[4][5]

Lietuvoje atikai atsirado renesanso architektūros pastatuose (Aušros vartai, XVI a., namas Pilies g. 4, Vilniuje, XVII a.), taikyti istorizmo architektūros dvarų rūmuose (Gabrielės Petkevičaitės-Bitės dvaras Puziniškyje, XIX a.)[2][6]
