Pontificium Institutum Biblicum(Italice: Pontificio Istituto Biblico, compendiarie: PIB) academia quaedam Vaticana est. In unione firma stat cum Pontificia Universitate Gregoriana cum licentia magistrorum doctorumque creandorum. Anno 2019 ibi studiosi 324 studiis vacabant. Sententia eius est Verbum Dei manet in aeternum.

Historia

Cum diu apud catholicos eruditio et doctrina quoad Sacras Scripturas in desidiis fuissent, summus pontifex Leo XIII anno 1902 locum curarum erigere in animo habuit. Quod revera Pio X contigit. Iste vir documento apostolico praetitulato Vinea electa die 7 Maii 1909 societati Iesu mandatum dedit ut scientia Biblica in gremio academico internatali catholico effloreret. Rector magnificus primus, qui in condendo collegio multum navabat, Leopoldi Fonck nomen habuit.[1]

Anno 1927 Hierosolymae sedes altera portas patefecit. Anno 1934 instituta secundum constitutionem apostolicam Deus scientiarum Dominus (anni 1931) de rebus, quae ad universitates facultatesque catholicas spectarent, statuta sua sunt nacta.

Res magni momenti coluntur atque aguntur duabus in facultatibus, i.e. de exegesi et de linguis orientalibus.
