Neoptolemus Priamum occidit.

Neoptolemos (Graece: Νεοπτόλεμος) - etiam Pyrrhos dictus – est in Mythologia Graeca filius Achillis et Deidamiae, in insula Scyro educatus[1]. Neoptolemum, ait Carolus Stephanus [2] Pyrrho "cognomen inde impositum quod admodum adolescentulus primum tirocinium in bello Troiano posuerit. Νεοπτόλεμος enim Graecis tironem sonat, seu militem novitium". Secundum Vergilium, Priamum regem Troiae occidit apud aram. Neoptolemus Delphis ad aram item Apollinis ab Oreste interfectus est [3] ut quidem auctores Latini voluerunt. Nam a primis poetis Graecis[4] sicarius Machaerus appellatur. Deinde Euripides mortem Neoptolemi non quidem Orestis manibus sed eius insidiis primus tribuisse videtur[5].

Neoptolemus tragoediarum antiquarum persona fuit in Philoctete Sophocleo, Andromacha Euripidea, Troadibus Senecanis. In tragoedis modernis persona Andromachae Iohannis Racine erat.
