Anuta, olim Cherry Island, est parva insula alta in vulturna parte provinciae Temotus in Insulis Salomonis. Insula, fere 500 km vulturno ante insulam Nendonem, 11°36'39.00" S latitudine, 169°51'1.00" E longitudine iacens, est parva insula volcanica abs curalii scopulo cincta. Summus locus est 65 m super maris superficiem. Diametros est fere 750 m.
Originem primarum indigenarum non noscimus. Tempus antiquissimi situs ab archaeologis inventi est 950 a.C.n., in varietate annorum 1165–765, sed nexus inter quos in insula primum consederunt et homines hodiernos non est verisimilis.
