プロのモーターレーシングチームと、一般向けに販売され、選手権の技術規則に準拠したファミリーカーの高度に修正されたバージョンで競い合う私費資金のアマチュアドライバーが混在している。英国で最も人気のある国内モーターレースシリーズの1つであり、BTCCのセンターピースを中心に広範なサポートカテゴリのプログラムが構築されている。今回で57回目の英国ツーリングカー選手権 （BTCC）シーズン。
暫定カレンダーは、2013年9月14日に選手権主催者によって発表されました。[ 28] オールトンパーク ラウンドは、アイランド レイアウトから、1996年シーズン 中に最後に使用された国際 サーキットに切り替わります。[ 29]
