Cahill fæddist í New York-borg, New York-fylki í Bandaríkjunum og er af írskum og ítölskum uppruna.

Cahill stundaði nám við Skidmore College í Saratoga Springs, New York[1] og Atlantic Theater Acting School sem er hluti af Tisch Scool of the Arts við New York-háskólann.[2][3]

Ferill

Fyrsta hlutverk Cahill var í sjónvarpsþættinum Sex and the City (2000). Árið 2000 var Cahill boðið hlutverk í Friends sem Tag Jones kærasti Rachelar. Árið 2004 var Cahill boðið hlutverk í CSI: NY sem rannsóknarfulltrúinn Don Flack og hefur verið einn af aðalleikurunum síðan þá.
