This Is What the Truth Feels Like adalah album studio ketiga yang akan dirilis oleh penyanyi Amerika Serikat Gwen Stefani. Album ini dijadwalkan akan dirilis pada tanggal 18 Maret 2016 oleh Interscope Records.[1] Awalnya, album ini dijadwalkan akan rilis pada bulan Desember 2014 dengan Benny Blanco sebagai produser eksekutif dan mengusung lagu Baby Don't Lie dan Spark the Fire sebagai singel. Namun, ternyata lagu-lagu tersebut tidak meraih hasil yang memuaskan di tangga lagu, sehingga rencana rilis album dibatalkan dan diulang dari awal.

Terinspirasi dari perceraiannya dengan Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani menuangkan perasaannya ke dalam lagu-lagu baru. Dia menggandeng produser J.R. Rotem, Mattman & Robin dan Greg Kurstin, serta pencipta lagu Justin Tranter dan Julia Michaels, untuk menuntaskan album ketiganya ini dalam beberapa bulan. Gwen menyebut album ini sebagai "album patah hati".

Singel utama dari album ini, Used to Love You, yang dirilis pada tanggal 20 Oktober 2015, mendapat respon positif dari para kritikus musik dan meraih peringkat yang lumayan di tangga lagu Billboard.[2] Singel kedua, Make Me Like You, dirilis pada 12 Februari 2016, merupakan lagu pertama yang memiliki video klip yang dibuat secara live saat jeda iklan acara Penghargaan Grammy 2016.[3] Singel ini mendapat pujian dari para kritikus musik yang menyukai irama lagunya yang upbeat dan liriknya yang menarik.[4]
