Ikatan Ahli Geologi Indonesia (IAGI)


Ikatan Ahli Geologi Indonesia (IAGI) adalah organisasi profesi para ahli geologi Indonesia dan pihak-pihak yang memiliki ketertarikan terhadap bidang kegeologian. IAGI didirikan pada 13 April 1960 dengan nama awal Ikatan Achli Geologi Indonesia. [1]

Sejarah IAGI

Pendirian IAGI berawal dari Panitia Persiapan yang kemudian dikenal panitia enam, terdiri dari sejumlah ahli geologi dan mahasiswa geologi di Kantor Jawatan Geologi Bandung padata tahun 1960. Panitia persiapan tersebut adalah Soetarjo Sigit, Nilo Perbowo, Djajadi Hadikusumo, Sukiyo, Prajitno, Yuni, Ong Han Ling, Achmad Effendi Harsa[1] dan Bachtoel Chatab[2]. Panitia persiapan mengadakan pertemuan pada tanggal 13 April 1960 untuk membahas pendirian IAGI. Tanggal 13 April 1960 kemudian dijadikan sebagai tanggal berdirinya IAGI Ikatan Achli Geologi Indonesia (IAGI)[1] yang kemudian menyesuaikan ejaan menjadi Ikatan Ahli Geologi Indonesia.

Anak Organisasi

IAGI mempunyai 7 (tujuh) anak organisasi yang merupakan kumpulan Anggota IAGI yang mempunyai keahlian atau minat dalam bidang geologi tertentu. Adapun anak organisasi IAGI tersebut yaitu[1][3] Forum Sedimentologiawan Indonesia (FOSI) – bidang sedimentologi, Masyarakat Geowisata Indonesia (MAGI) – bidang geowisata, Masyarakat Geologi Ekonomi Indonesia (MGEI) – bidang geologi ekonomi, Forum Geosaintis Muda Indonesia (FGMI) – menaungi geosaintis muda, Indonesian Society of Petroleum Geologists(ISPG) – bidang geologi perminyakan, Masyarakat Geologi Teknik Indonesia (MGTI) – bidang geologi Teknik, Masyarakat Geologi Tata Lingkungan Indonesia (MAGETI) – bidang geologi tata lingkungan
