Grand Junction adalah kota otonom yang merupakan pusat pemerintahan dan kota terbesar di County Mesa, Colorado, Amerika Serikat.[1] Populasi Grand Junction adalah 65.560 jiwa pada Sensus Amerika Serikat tahun 2020, menjadikannya kota terpadat di Colorado barat dan kota Colorado terpadat ke-17 secara keseluruhan.[2] Komposisi ras di kota ini adalah 91,78% Kulit Putih, 0,60% Afrika Amerika, 0,94% Penduduk Asli Amerika, 0,76% Asia, 0,12% Penduduk Kepulauan Pasifik, 3,81% dari ras lain, dan 1,99% dari dua ras atau lebih. Penduduk Hispanik atau Latin dari ras apa pun berjumlah 10,86% dari populasi.[3]

Grand Junction terletak 247 mil (398 km) barat daya Colorado State Capitol di Denver. Kota ini memiliki bentuk pemerintahan dewan–pengelola.[4] Ini adalah pusat komersial dan transportasi utama di wilayah antara Sungai Green dan Pembagi Benua, dan kota terbesar di Colorado di luar Koridor perkotaan Front Range. Pada Sensus Amerika Serikat tahun 2020, kota ini memiliki luas total 103.799 km2 termasuk 1.147 km2 perairan.[2]

Pada bulan September 1881, bekas Wilayah Indian Ute dihapuskan dan Ute dipaksa pindah sehingga pemerintah AS dapat membuka wilayah tersebut bagi para pemukim. George Addison Crawford (1827–91) kelahiran Clinton County, Pennsylvania segera membeli sebidang tanah.[5] Jalan Denver dan Rio Grande dibuka hingga tenggara Grand Junction, kemudian dari Pueblo melalui Gunnison pada tahun 1882, diikuti pada tahun 1890 oleh jalur standar Rio Grande Junction Railway dari timur laut, dari New Castle (dimiliki bersama oleh D&RG dan Colorado Midland ).[6] Ini memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap perluasan dan pemukiman daerah tersebut.
