Հայտնի է գործիքային ստեղծագործություններով։ Ստեղծագործական ժառանգության հիմքը կլավեսինի 555 պիեսներն են, այդ թվում՝ 400-ից ավելի միամաս սոնատներ (հեղինակը դրանք անվանել է «էքզերսիս»-վարժություն), որոնք դարձել են ապագա սոնատային ալեգրոյի նախատիպը։ Դրանց հատուկ են դասական կատարելությունն և անթերի ոճը, կլավեսինի տեխնիկայի նորարարական օգտագործումը։ Սոնատներում Սկարլատտին հակադրում է բազմաբնույթ կերպարներ, թեմատիկ ցայտուն տարրեր, գտնում դրանց դինամիկ զարգացման հնարներ։ Ստեղծել է կլավեսին նվազելու վիրտուոզ ոճ։ Գրել է նաև 14 օպերա և հոգևոր երաժշտություն։
