Անտիոքոս III Մեծ (մ.թ.ա. 242-մ.թ.ա. 187), Սելևկյանների կայսրության թագավոր մ.թ.ա. 223 թվականից։ Սելևկոս II Կալինիկոս թագավորի որդին և հաջորդը։ Ճնշեց Մարաստանի, Պարսկաստանի և Փոքր Ասիայի սատրապների ապստամբությունները։ Մ.թ.ա. 219 թվականին Պտղոմեոսներից նվաճեց Կղեսուրը, Փյունիկիան և Պաղեստինը, բայց մ.թ.ա. 217 թվականին, պարտվելով նրանցից, հարկադրված էր ետ վերադարձնել դրանք։ Մ.թ.ա. 212 թվականին նվաճեց Ծոփքի հայկական թագավորությունը։ Ծոփքի Քսերքսես թագավորի հավատարմությունը շահելու համար իր քույր Անտիոքիսին կնության տվեց նրան։ Սակայն նպատակին չհասնելով՝ նույն Անտիոքոսիսի միջոցով թունավորեց Քսերքսեսին։ Մ.թ.ա. 212-մ.թ.ա. 205 թվականին Անտիոքոսը հաղթական արշավանքով հասավ Հնդկաստան` հնազանդեցնելով Պարթևաստանը և Բակտրիան։ Արևելյան այս արշավանքի համար ստացավ Մեծ պատվանունը։ Մինչև մ.թ.ա. 200 թվականն Անտիոքոսը վերանվաճեց Պաղեստինը և Հայաստանը։ Ստրաբոնի վկայությամբ, Անտիոքոսը Հայաստանի ստրատեգոսներ կարգեց Արտաշես Ա-ին և Զարեհին։ Փոքր Ասիայի քաղաքների և Թրակիայի համար Անտիոքոսը պատերազմներ մղեց Պերգամոնի Եվմենոս II թագավորի դեմ։ Մագնեսիայի ճակատամարտում մ.թ.ա. 190 թվականին ծանր պարտություն կրեց հռոմեացիներից և Ապամեայի պայմանագրով մ.թ.ա. 188 թվականին հրաժարվեց Տավրոսի լեռներից արևմուտք ընկած փոքրասիական հողերից և Միջերկրական ծովում նավատորմ ունենալու իրավունքից` վճարելով խոշոր ռազմատուգանք։ Սելևկյանների պետությունը անկում ապրեց։ Նրանից անջատվեցին Մեծ Հայքը և Ծոփքը, որտեղ ստեղծվեցին անկախ թագավորություններ։
