רקדני גו-גו (באנגלית: Go-go dancers) הם רקדנים המועסקים לאירוח קהל במועדוני לילה,[1] או במקומות אחרים שבהם מנגנים מוזיקה. מקורו של ריקוד גו-גו הוא בתחילת שנות ה-60 של המאה ה-20 בבר הצרפתי "Whisky a Gogo", שנמצא בז'ואן-לה-פן.[2] לאחר מכן, בינואר 1964, ריקוד הגו-גו הופיע גם במועדון הרוק הפופולרי ביותר בלוס אנג'לס, קליפורניה, "ויסקי אה גוגו".[3] רבים מרקדני הגו-גו במועדוני הלילה בשנות ה-60 של המאה ה-20, לבשו חצאיות מיני ומגפיים עם עקבים גבוהים. בעלי מועדוני לילה באמצע שנות ה-60 של המאה ה-20, הגו אז את הרעיון להעסיק נשים לבושות בבגדים אלו, בשביל לבדר פטרונים.

בגיי ברים רבים, הופיעו רקדני גו-גו, המכונים לעיתים קרובות נערי גו-גו, ב-1965–1968. לאחר מכן, הופתעם של רקדני גו-גו בגיי ברים הופחתה, עד לתחייה מחדש ב-1988, כאשר ריקודי גו-גו נהפכו שוב לאופנתיים (ונשארו כך מאז). כיום, רקדני גו-גוי הומוסקסואליים הם הרבה יותר פופולריים ונפוצים בתרבות האמריקאית, במיוחד בערים גדולות יותר כמו לוס אנג'לס וניו יורק. בסצנת המועדונים של ימינו, ישנם יותר רקדני גו-גו, מאשר רקדניות גו-גו.[4][5]

אירועים ומסיבות

נכון להיום, עיריית ווסט הוליווד (אנ') חוגגת את ההיסטוריה והתרבות של ריקודי גו-גו על ידי אירוח יריד ופסטיבל רחוב שנתי, "יום הערכת רקדני הגו-גו" (באנגלית: Go-Go Boy Appreciation Day).[6]
